French High-Speed Train TGV to Arrive in Czech Republic
The ten cars long French high-speed unit will arrive in the Czech Republic from Germany. First opportunity for the public to see it will be on 6 June at the Prague main station, where the unit will be dwelling for 11 hours, near the exit from the new underpass towards Žižkov. In the evening, the TGV unit will be relocated to the tracks of the Brno Exhibition Centre to become a part of the outdoor exposition. During that time, it will also serve as a presentation stage for SNCF and the project of Fast connections in our country.
Further stops are Jihlava on 10 June and the main station in Ústí nad Labem the day after. The TGV will then return to its home country via Germany. Správa železnic will cooperate with ČD Cargo to handle the forwarding of the unit on Czech territory.
The presented unit type TGV PSE, registration number 16, was delivered in 1980 by Alstom for the project TGV Sud-Est (south-east), which brought an unrivalled train connection between Paris and Lyon. This unit was part of a series of 109 units with the unmistakable orange painting. The train comprises of two power and eight intermediate cars in the length of 200 metres and accommodate in its original setting 368 seats in total. This unit set 1981 the speed record of 380 km/h, running at 300 km/h on regular connections. It served on regular operation until 2018, covering a total distance of 13,383,189 km.Soubory ke stažení
