Havlíčkův Brod Has Two More Platforms Reconstructed

More comfortable access to platforms and trains’ boarding was provided by a construction which was festively completed today by Správa železniční dopravní cesty (SŽDC) in Havlíčkův Brod. Works at the most important railway junction in Vysočina Region were going on since August last year having as objective a reconstruction of Platforms No 1 and 4 and adjoining tracks.

During past years, the most heavily used platforms No 2 and 3 at Havlíčkův Brod Station experienced a reconstruction which allowed adding modern parameters to two more platforms. Both of these have a boarding edge of 550 mm above the track; access for persons with reduced mobility and orientation is assured by new lifts.

The project also dealt with reconstruction of the railway superstructure and substructure, including adaptations of five station tracks. These are continuous welded and allow smoother running of trans. Signalling equipment has been reconstructed as well. The catenary was also adapted; a new contact line was installed in a part of the trackage.

Construction works included also a new orientation system and radio for passengers on Platforms 1 and 4. Both of them acquired new roofing and lighting.

The supplier of the construction designated as Reconstruction of Platforms No 1, No 4 at Havlíčkův Brod railway station is the company Chládek a Tintěra Havlíčkův Brod. Total estimated investment costs equal CZK 138,208,111 (VAT excluded). The project is co-financed by the European Union from its Cohesion Fund under the Operational Programme Transport 2014–2020. The EU contribution can amount up to CZK 100,925,692. National financing is provided by the State Fund for Transport infrastructure.
