Market Research concerning the project of establishing a European Train Control System (ETCS)
Správa železnic is expecting to gain new knowledge and experience through the market research, which it will be able to subsequently use for the benefit of the segment aforesaid, as well as for other upcoming projects.
“We would like to gain new information and expertise from potential suppliers of the ETCS system not only from the Czech Republic, but also from the entire Europe. We intend to make use of their ideas in the preparatory as well as in the implementation stage of the relevant projects. At the same time, we wish to verify the contractors’ desire to enter into public contracts for the establishment of this modern security system,” says Jiří Svoboda, General Director of Správa železnic.
The launch of the market research was announced in the Public Contracts Journal on 30 March 2020, and via the Public Contracts Journal also in the EU Official Journal (TED). Through the market research, the contracting authority will approach all the key suppliers of the ETCS system both in the Czech Republic and throughout Europe. Besides, however, all other contractors properly enrolled will be admitted for participation in the market research.

Parties willing to participate in the market research may apply by 13 April 2020 12:00 (noon) at the latest, by means of a registration form attached to the request for participation.
Evaluation of the research is anticipated to take place in the course of April. The findings and recommendations obtained will be subsequently used in drafting the intent of the project for the segment “National border Germany – Děčín – Ústí nad Labem – Kralupy nad Vltavou”. The intent of the project should be presented by the end of this year to the Central Commission of the Ministry of Transport for approval.
