Railway Transport Restrictions Affect Long-Distance and Regional Trains

Based on the Governments decision, all cross-border and long distance international railway transport of passengers was stopped as of Saturday 14 March. As of Friday 20 March and Saturday 21 March, a reduction of domestic long-distance transport ordered by the State started taking place; some commercial trains dispatched by individual carriers also stopped running.

During the week starting 23 March, changes in regional transport ordered by administrative regions are expected as well. Trains are being cancelled by regions due to closed schools and in general for reasons of decreased demand for transport. Therefore we ask all passengers to make sure that their train is really running, either at each railway carrier or on the website of Správa železnic, more specifically at the address https://najdispoj.szdc.cz/. Due to an unpredictable development of the situation with coronavirus infection spreading and its impact on transport, it is not possible to update continuously timetable posters at railway stations and stops.

Správa železnic will inform about all changes according to time possibilities by repeated exceptional operative station radio announcements or by publishing this text on information boards.

Running of trains in domestic traffic transiting over foreign territory

Based on an exception granted by the Minister of Transport on 14 March 2020, running of passenger trains in domestic traffic transiting over foreign territory is allowed on set conditions, i.e. no boarding or leaving trains by passengers on a foreign country territory is permitted and traffic is assured by one train without transfer. This concerns running of trains in domestic traffic Hrádek nad Nisou – Zittau – Varnsdorf transiting over the territory of Poland and Germany.

By decision of PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe, running of trains in domestic traffic transiting over foreign territory from Jindřichov ve Slezsku to Mikulovice is not allowed.
