Reconstruction of the Section from Dětmarovice to the State Border with Poland Begins

The subject of the project is a double-track electrified section on the transit railway corridor between Dětmarovice and the state border with Poland via Petrovice u Karviné. As a part of the construction, the railway substructure will be redeveloped, the railway superstructure restored, and selected bridge structures will be rebuilt to the required parameters. Six railway crossings in the given section will undergo reconstruction, and their safety system will be modernised on some of them.

The platforms will be reconstructed to gain barrier-free access in the Dětmarovice and Petrovice u Karviné railway stations. In addition, they will receive new roofing and the necessary furnishing.  Passengers will be served by a new information and orientation system. Modern safety and signalling equipment will be installed in the entire section, including stations.

Part of the project is the reconstruction of the traction line, respectively the installation of a new one. All modifications will respect the plan for the transition to a unified AC power system.

The total investment costs of the construction called Dětmarovice – Petrovice u K. – state border PR, BC amount up to CZK 3.053 billion excluding VAT. The project will be co-financed by the European Union under the CEF Blending instrument up to 20% of eligible implementation costs and financed from an EIB loan up to 50% of the total investment costs. National funding will be provided by the Státní fond dopravní infrastruktury. The contractor that will perform the work for the price of CZK 2.657 billion will be the company Společnost Dětmarovice, which consists of STRABAG Rail and OHL ŽS.
