Railway Line from Železný Brod to Tanvald Awaiting Repairs
As of beginning of September 2019, the railway line section between Železný Brod and Tanvald will be undergoing complex repairs. Besides works on the railway superstructure, Správa železniční dopravní cesty (SŽDC) will also adapt platforms at Velké Hamry Station and at three more railway stops. A continuous line closure will begin on 2 September; at the same time, operation will be restricted in the connection section leading to Harrachov as well due to a reconstruction of several bridges.

Průběžná Street Closing for a Month Due to Reconstruction of Railway Line to Hostivař
During continuing works on the new corridor leading to Praha-Hostivař the investor of which is Správa železniční dopravní cesty (SŽDC), Průběžná Street will be closed from 25 July to 25 August on the site of the underpass under the railway line in direction to Švehlova Street. Restrictions mentioned above will concern mass urban and individual transport as well as pedestrians and cyclists.

Almost a Billion Crowns for Better Safeguarding of Railway Crossings
Správa železniční dopravní cesty (SŽDC) invests approximately CZK 1 billion per year for a better safeguarding of all types of railway crossings. Every year, the level of safeguarding gets better at approximately 150 level crossings. Due to serious collisions caused by inobservance of road traffic rules by its participants, SŽDC also currently re-evaluates regulations for the preparation of further constructions related to increasing safety at railway crossings.

Děčín východ Station Has Undergone a Comprehensive Repair
Správa železniční dopravní cesty (SŽDC) has reconstructed the so-called upper station in the station Děčín východ. This has acquired modern signalling equipment, a platform with barrier-free access and a new information system.

SŽDC Reminds Teenagers of Safe Railway Rules during Summer Holidays
Inattention, showing off and needless hazard are the most common causes of severe injuries to children and young people on railway or in its immediate surroundings during holidays. That is why the Správa železniční dopravní cesty (SŽDC) has prepared videos focusing on reminding the safe railway rules.

Electrification and Increasing Capacity Starts in August on the Uničov – Olomouc Line
On 1 July, Správa železniční dopravní cesty (SŽDC) concluded a contract with the association of companies Subterra, OHL ŽS and EŽ Praha for the electrification and increasing capacity on the line Uničov – Olomouc. Construction works as such and related continuous line closure at Uničov will start in August; they will be completed in mid-2022. The project will acquire support of the European Union under the Operational Programme Transport 2, total investment costs will amount approximately to CZK 3.9 billion.

Trains Return to the Railway Line Ledečko - Zruč nad Sázavou
Správa železniční dopravní cesty (SŽDC) completed repairs on the line of the so-called “Sázava Pacific Train” between Ledečko and Zruč nad Sázavou. Railway superstructure and substructure was repaired on approximately 30 kilometres, the rock massif in close vicinity of the line had to be sanitized at several places. Construction works for a price of CZK 709.7 million also allowed eliminating slow rides in a section 8.3 kilometres long.

New Orientation System at Plzeň Main Station
As of 1 July 2019, Správa železniční dopravní cesty (SŽDC) changes the numbering of platforms and tracks at the Plzeň Main Station. Having undergone a major reconstruction in the previous years, the station will become one of the first on the SŽDC network where a new orientation and information system for passengers will be introduced.

Revitalization Construction of the Line Týniště nad Orlicí – Broumov Is Complete
Reconstruction of an important railway section in Hradec Králové Region is complete. The line construction was carried out by the company Společnost Týniště – Broumov, associating the following construction companies: Starmon, EUROVIA CS, Chládek a Tintěra, Pardubice and GJW Praha. The project investor is Správa železniční dopravní cesty. In connection with works’ completion, the closure in this section ends as well.

Modernized Corridor Part from Praha-Uhříněves to Votice Will Acquire ETCS Next Year Already
Introducing the unified European Train Control System (ETCS) on the Czech railway accelerates more and more. Next year already, it will be acquired by an important part of Czech Rail Transit Corridor IV. Today, Správa železniční dopravní cesty (SŽDC) festively launched the installation of a modern train control system in the line section Praha-Uhříněves – Votice. The supplier of works is the company AŽD Praha.
