SŽDC Completed Modernization of Karlovy Vary Station
The railway station Horní nádraží (Upper Station) in Karlovy Vary acquired a modern shape corresponding to the city’s importance as a spa centre and a regional capital. Today, Správa železniční dopravní cesty (SŽDC) festively completed a complex reconstruction of the station. Since 2017 already, passengers have at their disposal a new passenger building which is now completed by platforms, a new underpass and lifts. Railway superstructure and substructure was also adapted as well as the catenary and signalling equipment.

SŽDC Presents the Current State of Preparations for Dresden – Prague Rapid Service
One of the main priorities of Správa železniční dopravní cesty (SŽDC) in the field of railway infrastructure is to ensure the implementation of the governmental Programme of Railway Rapid Service Development in the Czech Republic. To assure successful preparation and implementation, intense cooperation of the state administration represented by the Ministry of Transport, SŽDC and regional and local authorities is needed. That is why the infrastructure manager prepared for this year a project of presentation meetings Current State of HSL Preparation in the Czech Republic. The first meeting took place today in Ústí nad Labem.

Expected Reconstruction of Passenger Building at Havířov Launched
Today, Správa železniční dopravní cesty (SŽDC) handed over to the supplier the worksite for starting reconstruction of the passenger building at Havířov Station. This is the biggest project implemented this year in Moravia in the field of railway station buildings repairs. The reconstruction will be assured by the company OHL ŽS and TOMI REMONT for a price of CZK 137 million.

Repairs of Fanta Building Facade and Roof Start at Prague Main Station
SŽDC selected a supplier for reconstruction of the Prague Main Station historical part. It is the first phase of works on the Art Nouveau style Fanta building including a roof and facade renovation. The selected supplier is the company AVERS; total investment costs equal CZK 212 million, works will start in the first half of this year.

SŽDC Introduced New Uniforms for Employees
During a special fashion show held today at Prague Main Station, Správa železniční dopravní cesty (SŽDC) introduced new uniforms for train dispatchers. A timeless design, a practical cut, a material of higher quality and effortless maintenance – all of this is provided by uniforms with corporate identity components.

New Railway Stop Písek jih Will Shorten the Way to the City Centre
This autumn already, inhabitants and visitors of the South Bohemian city of Písek will acquire a new railway stop situated closer to the city centre than the local railway station. Správa železniční dopravní cesty (SŽDC) selected the construction supplier.

Five Projects Moving On to Phase Two of Architectonical Contest for Veleslavín Station
The international jury of the architectonical con test for the future shape of Praha-Veleslavín railway station met for its first two-day session. The contest was announced by Správa železniční dopravní cesty (SŽDC) in connection with the preparation and elaboration of the project ”Modernization and New Construction of the Line Praha-Veleslavín (included) – Praha-Letiště Václava Havla (included).

Modernization of Plzeň Main Station Complete
The Main Station in Plzeň acquired a modern shape, corresponding to its importance both for regional and for long-distance railway transport. Today, Správa železniční dopravní cesty (SŽDC) festively completed a complex reconstruction of the station. Passengers will have at their disposal two underpasses under all platforms; the regional capital inhabitants will appreciate two reconstructed railway bridges over Mikulášská Street. The construction was launched in December 2016, total costs exceeded a sum of CZK 1.3 billion.

New Line Will Bring Shorter Journey Times Between Prague and České Budějovice
Správa železniční dopravní cesty (SŽDC) has selected a supplier for modernization of another section of Czech Rail Transit Corridor IV between Soběslav and Doubí u Tábora. This order will be carried out by the association of companies Soběslav – Doubí, consisting of companies STRABAG Rail, EUROVIA CS and Metrostav for a price amounting almost to CZK 3.9 billion (VAT excluded). Construction works should be launched this September; a new construction led in a parallel way with the D3 motorway and replacing the original line will be built up to April 2023.

New Bridge over Labe River Will Be Built during Modernization of Line to Lysá nad Labem
Správa železniční dopravní cesty (SŽDC) launches another extensive project in the neighbourhood of Prague – the optimization of a line section between stations Lysá nad Labem – Čelákovice, its predominant part being the construction of a new railway bridge over Labe River near Čelákovice. Construction works will be carried out by the companies EUROVIA CS, GJW Praha and Elektrizace železnic Praha. Planned investments will reach up to CZK 1.47 billion (VAT excluded); the EU will help financing the construction through its Connecting Europe Facility Programme (CEF).
