First Audience Will See the Safety and Prevention Movie “You Won’t Make It! 2”
Inattention, bragging or needless hazard are the most common causes of serious injuries of children and young people on the railway or in its Immediate surroundings. Merciless statistics show that a considerable number of such events still ends with permanent consequences or even fatalities. Správa železniční dopravní cesty (SŽDC) and České dráhy (ČD) have been appealing for many years already for observing all rules and regulations, A new safety and prevention movie “You won’t make it! 2” has its premiere today and will help both organizations in the field of prevention concentrating especially on pupils and high school students.

Extensive Reconstruction of Passenger Building in Turnov
A reconstructed passenger building started its service to inhabitants and visitors of the city of Turnov. A branch of Česká pošta (the Czech Post) was also opened today within the premises of an important railway junction in Liberec Region. Works on the one-floor building dating from the second half of the 19th century took exactly one year and cost Správa železniční dopravní cesty (SŽDC) almost CZK 30 million. The construction supplier was the company Chládek a Tintěra, Pardubice.

Reconstruction of Bridges in Plzeň over Mikulášská Street Near Final Stage
A bidirectional restoration of road and tram traffic in Mikulášská Street on Friday 31 August concluded another phase of the investment of Správa železniční dopravní cesty (SŽDC) designated as Junction Plzeň, Construction 2 – reconstruction of passenger railway station including Mikulášská bridges. At the same time, the road for automobiles under both bridges was considerably modernized and extended which will have a positive impact on smoothness and safety of road transport in this locality.

SŽDC Opened a Repaired Station Building in Grygov
The Grygov railway station near Olomouc was revived by a repaired station building. Construction works took more than three months and included repairs of the listed building’s exterior as well as renewal of its interior. Total investments amounted almost to CZK 3.4 million. The supplier of construction works was the company Hroší stavby Morava.

Bridges under SŽDC Administration Are Safe
Railway transport safety in the Czech Republic is not endangered by the state of railway bridges. The majority of bridge constructions is managed by Správa železniční dopravní cesty (SŽDC) which regularly controls them, assures their diagnostics, maintenance, repairs and in many cases modernization as well.

Third of Works on Negrelli Viaduct Modernization Completed
The reconstruction of Negrelli Viaduct in Prague centre is entering its next stage. Works will start in the Vltava riverbed between the Bubeneč Riverbank and Štvanice Island inside gravel pits and on the scaffolding placed over them. In August, special foundation laying on jet grouting and anchoring of the support being demolished under the operating point in Křižíkova Street will be completed.

Two New Railway Stations Arising in Prague – Eden and Zahradní Město
Up to the end of 2021, availability of the 10th Prague district by railway transport will improve considerably. This will be facilitated by completing a construction for a price of more that CZK 4 billion which was festively launched today by Správa železniční dopravní cesty (SŽDC). Trains connecting our capital city with Southern Bohemia will newly use a quadruple-track capacity line where a new station railway Praha-Zahradní Město and a railway stop Praha-Eden will be built. Line speed will increase up to 120 kph.

Modernization of the Line Nymburk – Mladá Boleslav Will Help Especially Freight Transport
Increasing railway infrastructure operational capacity between Nymburk and Mladá Boleslav especially for needs of intense freight transport is the objective of Phase 2 of the project implemented by Správa železniční dopravní cesty (SŽDC) on the single-track line mentioned above. Construction modifications include extending running tracks at Čachovice railway station and establishing a new passing point Straky. The construction’s supplier is the association Nymburk – Mladá Boleslav consisting of members AŽD Praha, TSS GRADE and SILNICE GROUP. The investments amounting to CZK 335 million will be completed next December. The construction is co-financed from the OPT programme for the period 2014 - 2020.

A New Repaired Station Building Serves Passengers at Modřice
The railway station at Modřice, being an important change node of integrated transport in South Moravia Region, acquired a new shape in the last few months Today, Správa železniční dopravní cesty (SŽDC) handed over a symbolic key of the repaired passenger building to the city representatives. Construction works for a price of approximately CZK 5.5 million started last October and lasted till the end of this June.

SŽDC Prepares in Prague A Reconstruction of Two Listed Bridges Between Smíchov and Jinonice
Two listed bridges on the railway line Praha-Smíchov – Praha-Jinonice, known as the “Prague Semmering” are going to be extensively reconstructed. At the beginning of September, main works on both bridges’ railway superstructure will start; the whole reconstruction will take eleven months for a price of CZK 63.7 billion. The construction’s supplier is the company Metrostav.
