Bohumín Station Will Acquire Modern Signalling Equipment Lost During Fire
Správa železniční dopravní cesty (SŽDC) started construction of modern signalling and safety equipment at Bohumín Station. Works will last up to next year and will allow finishing emergency traffic management which has been introduced two years ago at this railway station due to a devastating fire.

ČD Prevention Train Starts, Spring Part Began Today in Most
The successful project of České dráhy “Prevention Train for a Safe Railway” continues this year as well. The spring journey began on Monday 16 April at Most Railway Station; from there it will travel to Chomutov, Ústí nad Labem and Děčín. České dráhy has been organising the Prevention train since 2007. It is designed for pupils of primary schools and students of high schools and training institutions. In eleven years, more than 20 thousand young people from forty cities have visited this train. The national carrier cooperates on this project with well-tried partners: Správa železniční dopravní cesty and its own subsidiary, ČD Cargo.

SŽDC Ordered a Feasibility Study for Prague - Brno High-Speed Connection
Správa železniční dopravní cesty (SŽDC) ordered a feasibility study of the high-speed line Prague – Brno – Břeclav by concluding a contract with the winning company SUDOP Praha. Works on the study will take 29 months and will concentrate on technical, operational and the following economical assessment of the whole section from Prague through Brno to Břeclav. At the same time, it will verify and suggest a feasible solution which will satisfy future domestic and cross-border demand in long-distance passenger transport. It will assess two basic variants of the new lines’ position and three speed levels of 250, 300 and 350 kph.

CZK 24 million for Repairs of Station Buildings This Year in Karlovy Vary Region
This year, Správa železniční dopravní cesty (SŽDC) invests approximately CZK 24 million in the implementation and project works for repairs of selected station buildings in Karlovy Vary Region. More financial means are ready for the preparation of important investments which will be implemented in the years to follow and for carrying out small repairs. Originally, the sum intended for these purposes should have been twice as high; however, due to a more demanding preparation, some constructions had to be postponed to the following years. The most important ongoing construction in the region is a renovation of the passenger building in Sokolov.

CZK 42 Million for Station Buildings Repairs in North Bohemia This Year
This year, Správa železniční dopravní cesty (SŽDC) invests approximately CZK 42 million for the implementation and preparation of selected station buildings’ repairs in the Ústí nad Labem Region. More financial means will be used by the stations’ manager for project preparation of constructions in the following years and for implementation of lesser investments. Preparation of some larger projects requires more time so that they will be carried out only after 2019.

Investments of CZK 52 Million in Liberec Region This Year Mostly in Two Station Buildings
This year, Správa železniční dopravní cesty (SŽDC) invests approximately CZK 52 million in repairs of passenger buildings in Liberec Region. The largest projects are planned renovations of the station buildings in Turnov and Semily which should take several years. While repairs in Turnov started last year and will be completed this year, works in Semily were launched this year and will last till the next one.

SŽDC Wil Spent This Year CZK 100 Million for Repairs of East Bohemia Railway Stations
Repairs at railway stations in Hradec Králové, Přelouč, Nový Bydžov or Doudleby nad Orlicí – there are the largest investments in passenger buildings in Hradec Králové Region and Pardubice Region which will be implemented this year. Some of these were launched last year already and will be finished this year, others started this year and will continue till next year. In total, Správa železniční dopravní cesty (SŽDC) wants to invest a sum of CZK 100 million for these purposes.

CZK 39 million for Repairs of Railway Stations Buildings in South Bohemia This Year
This year, Správa železniční dopravní cesty (SŽDC) invests approximately CZK 39 million for repairs of selected station buildings in South Bohemia Region and for preparation of other projects. For the time being, only smaller constructions are concerned; however, repairs of larger passenger buildings should start next year such as in Veselí nad Lužnicí.

CZK 58 million for Repairs of Railway Stations Buildings in Plzeň Region This Year
Approximately CZK 58 million will be invested this year by Správa železniční dopravní cesty (SŽDC) in repairs of passenger buildings in Plzeň Region. A part of financial means will be also used for preparation of other projects with expected launch in 2019. Renovations of buildings in Plasy, Staňkov or Železná Ruda-Alžbětín belong among the largest projects being implemented.
