SŽDC Student Cup for Prague students for the fourth time
Prague, 8 June 2016 – Správa železniční dopravní cesty (the Czech Railway Infrastructure Administration) will welcome students of primary school 8th and 9th class for the four year of the all-day sports and educational event SŽDC Student Cup as they are going to choose their future profession soon. The project’s objective is presenting railway professions to students by an entertaining form and motivating them in choosing high school technical specialisations.

Regular passenger transport timetable change as of 12 June
Prague, 7 June 2016 – Správa železniční dopravní cesty (the Czech Railway Infrastructure Administration) prepared a regular change of passenger transport timetable as of Sunday 12 June on 77 lines of the basic railway network in total and on several more with nostalgic and excursion trains. This occurred based on requests from respective carriers and regions.

Tunnel boring machine Victoria sees daylight again after 500 days and 4 kilometres
Plzeň-Doubravka, 7 June 2016 – A breakthrough into the portal right in front of the Plzeň district Doubravka ends the digging of the Ejpovice tunnel southern tube over four kilometres long. After working for almost a year and a half underground, the tunnel boring machine Victoria will see daylight partly at least. The festive event was attended by representatives of SŽDC (the Czech Railway Infrastructure administration), the State Fund for Transport Infrastructure, the supplying companies Metrostav and Subterra as well other construction participants and guests.

Revitalisation of the line Pardubice – Ždírec nad Doubravou improved its parameters
Chrudim, 3 June 2016 – Správa železniční dopravní cesty (the Czech Railway Infrastructure Administration – SŽDC) improved parameters on a part of the railway line Havlíčkův Brod – Pardubice. The main objective of the project is to achieve a technical state corresponding to EU parameters and standards.

Completed modernisation of the line near Tábor brought the first railway tunnel to South Bohemia
Tábor, 2 June 2016 – Today, Správa železniční dopravní cesty (the Czech Railway Infrastructure Administration) festively completed modernisation of a railway line 12 kilometres long between Tábor and Sudoměřice u Tábora which was under way since 2013. This helped to increase comfort for passengers on the line from Praha to Tábor to shorten further journey times.

Travelling on the line Ústí nad Orlicí – Letohrad will be more comfortable
Letohrad, 19 May 2016 – Správa železniční dopravní cesty (the Railway Infrastructure Administration) will improve parameters of the line Ústí nad Orlicí – Lichkov in the section between stations v from Ústí to Letohrad. The main objective of this project is achieving a technical state corresponding to EU parameters and standards.

Travelling by train on the line Velký Osek – Hradec Králové – Choceň is faster and safer
Choťovice, 17 May 2016 – Správa železniční dopravní cesty (the Railway Infrastructure Administration) improved parameters of a part of the railway line leading from Velký Osek through Chlumec nad Cidlinou, Hradec Králové and Týniště nad Orlicí to Choceň. The main objective of this project is achieving a technical state corresponding to EU parameters and standards.

SŽDC modernised switches on railway lines in Moravia
Olomouc, 13 May 2016 – Správa železniční dopravní cesty (the Czech Railway Infrastructure administration) completed modernisation of switches on single-track lines in the district of the Regional Directorate Olomouc and at Zábřeh na Moravě and Hranice na Moravě railway stations. The main asset of the project is ensuring higher transport smoothness and increasing railway operation safety.

Line section Benešov u Prahy – Votice covered by GSM-R signal
Benešov, 12 May 2016 – Správa železniční dopravní cesty (the Railway Infrastructure Administration) introduced a digital radio system GSM-R along the line section Benešov u Prahy – Votice approximately 19 kilometres long. The festive completion of the construction took place today at Benešov u Prahy railway station.
