New Line Prague – Dresden Feasibility Study Entered Its Second Stage
The new railway connection Prague – Dresden feasibility study entered its next phase. The company CEDOP and the French group Egis Rail completed its first partial stage. The complete study will be finished to the end of this June. Construction of the new line between the Czech and Saxon capitals will bring not only a competitive connection of these two cities but also a connection of the Czech Republic to the high-speed network in Germany. It will include a cross-border tunnel 26 kilometres long under Krušné hory (Ore Mountains) which will also serve freight transport.

SŽDC High Rate of Reconstructing Lines Continues This Year, Dozens of New Constructions Will Be Launched
This year, Správa železniční dopravní cesty (SŽDC) will be preparing new constructions for a sum of more than CZK 100 billion; many others will advance to the implementation stage. The project of high-speed lines’ pilot section construction continues intensely as well, dozens of repaired passenger buildings will be opened for passengers. Nevertheless, the state organization’s plans for 2019 are much more extensive.

SŽDC Starts Selection of Supplier for HSL Brno – Přerov – Ostrava Feasibility Study
As the first organization in the branch of transport, Správa železniční dopravní cesty (SŽDC) will select a tender winner while using a new unique method Best Value Approach/Best Value Procurement (BVA/BVP). The tendering procedure started today by opening bids. The supplier will prepare a feasibility study for the high-speed line (Brno) – Přerov – Ostrava which will include a draft of the new line’s route as such as well as other modifications of the current railway infrastructure.

Successful Year 2018: SŽDC Continued Reconstructions of Railway Lines, Did Not Forget Carriers and Passengers Either
The past year 2018 was successful for Správa železniční dopravní cesty (SŽDC), one of the biggest final recipients of financial resources from the current Operational Programme Transport. At the end of the year, it had an approved contribution equalling 99.5% from the total allocated sum. Only CZK 19 billion was invested into railway infrastructure modernization and mechanization. Better parameters of railway lines brought modifications of repair works; a considerable improvement occurred also in the field of cooperation with carriers and better services for passengers.

This Year, SŽDC Starts Repairs at Prague Main Station on Fanta Building Facade and Roof
SŽDC is preparing repairs of the Prague Main Station historical part. Today, a tender was launched for repairs of the Art Nouveau style Fanta building facade and roof. Total investment costs will amount to CZK 171.5 million, works are going to start in the first half of the year.

Construction of Railway Line to Airport Will Bring Almost 1,400 Parking Places in Central Bohemia
Správa železniční dopravní cesty (SŽDC) develops not only railway transport but influences indirectly road transport as well. Modernization of the line Prague – Kladno with a connection to Václav Havel Airport includes opening 1,374 new parking places of the P+R (park + ride) type in Central Bohemia communities along this route. Together with the modernization as such, these important supporting investments will help decreasing road traffic and strengthen change connections to railway transport between the Kladno region, the area west of Prague and its centre.

Poříčany Station Has Modernized Platforms With Barrier-Free Access
Reconstruction of Poříčany railway station on the line Praha – Kolín brought barrier-free access to all four platforms and an extension of the underpass under the whole station. Investments of Správa železniční dopravní cesty (SŽDC) amounted to a sum of CZK 125 million; the construction was carried out by the company Chládek a Tintěra, Pardubice.

Trains Return to Prague Semmering, Works Will End Next Year
On Tuesday 18 December in the evening, the train operation closure of more than three months on the line Praha-Smíchov – Hostivice, known also under the name the Prague Semmering, finally ended. Passengers arriving from Kladno and Hostivice thus acquired once again a fast train connection with Praha-Smíchov Station and the centre of Prague. Train operation was interrupted especially due to a reconstruction of two listed bridges spanning over Prokop Valley and Dalejský Creek. A new railway stop at Jinonice in the immediate vicinity of the Prague metro was built as well; the Žvahov and Stodůlky passing points were completely reconstructed.

Boring of Deboreč Tunnel Launched on Rail Corridor IV
Today, Správa železniční dopravní cesty (SŽDC) festively started boring the Deboreč tunnel. This is the shorter of two tunnels which will constitute a new part of the line Sudoměřice – Votice on Czech Rail Transit Corridor IV. Boring started from the exit (Prague) portal; it should be completed next July, including the primal lining.

New Repaired Passenger Building in Kuřim Serves Passengers
After an extensive modernization, the passenger building at Kuřim railway station became a truly representative entrance gate into the city, situated in the Brno region. The construction took approximately one year, during which both the exterior (facade, roof and doors) and the interior was changed extensively. The reconstruction was carried out by the association bearing the name HSM + ChT – Rekonstrukce VB Kuřim, consisting of the companies Hroší stavby Morava and Chládek a Tintěra, Pardubice. Total costs amounted to a sum of CZK 19.7 million. The investor was Správa železniční dopravní cesty (SŽDC).
