Unique arch bridge is being built over Orlík Dam
Orlík reservoir will be spanned by a new railway bridge in the coming months. Parts of the future reinforced concrete arch with a span of 156 metres are already starting to grow from the foundations on both banks of the Vltava. The construction site near the station Červená nad Vltavou was also visited today by Minister of Transport Martin Kupka and Director General of Správa železnic Jiří Svoboda as part of the inspection day. The total cost of the construction amounts to CZK 685 million and trains will start using the new bridge in November next year.

The functionalist dominant of Pardubice shines with newness
The complete reconstruction of the high-rise part of the building at Pardubice Main Station is complete. The interior and exterior of the former hotel has been sensitively renovated and now serves as an educational centre for Správa železnic. On the ground floor, passengers will find a restored restaurant. However, the plans do not end there, during the autumn a tender for the reconstruction of the check-in hall and both wings of the station is planned.

Work begins on project that will relocate railway station in Veleslavín underground
The railway in the metropolis is undergoing dynamic development, a large share of which is due to the ongoing modernisation of the line to the airport and to Kladno. It also includes the section between Veleslavín and Ruzyně, which has advanced to the next stage of preparation and has obtained a designer. The documentation for the joint permit will be elaborated by companies SUDOP Praha and Moravia Consult Olomouc for CZK 211,656,000.

Správa železnic has announced architectural competition for Jihlava VRT high-speed railway terminal
The terminal near Jihlava will increase the accessibility of the new high-speed railway for the inhabitants of the wider region. The transfer junction will be part of the new railway connection Praha – Brno. The winning architectural and urban design should be presented in the first half of next year.

Construction of the stop Pardubice centrum will start in September
The expected construction of the new stop Pardubice centrum knows its contractor and can begin. This project will significantly improve the accessibility of the city centre for passengers in the middle of next year. Trains from Jaroměř and Hradec Králové will arrive here, and it will also serve for the turnaround of trains providing connections between Pardubice and Chrudim.

Dozens of railway stations will turn to sun, Správa železnic will save over 1,200 MWh per year
The installation of photovoltaic power plants in the Czech railway environment continues. After the pilot project in Děčín, Správa železnic will install solar panels on the roofs of other station buildings across the country. Their operation will thus be more environmentally friendly thanks to the use of renewable energy sources.

Work on corridor between Lipník nad Bečvou and Drahotuše will start in September already
The busy section of the second railway corridor between Lipník nad Bečvou and Drahotuše is awaiting complete modernisation. The winner of the tender for the construction contractor is the association of companies Eurovia CS, Chládek a Tintěra Pardubice, GJW Praha and Elektrizace železnic Praha, which submitted a bid of CZK 2.1 billion. Work on the six-kilometre section will start in September.

Station building in Vsetín has finished its service life, it will be replaced by modern terminal
The dynamics of the ongoing work at the Vsetín railway station is visible at every step. In the middle of the summer holidays, the next stage of reconstruction started, which now focuses on the second part of the track facility. The removal of the obsolete station building will also begin, to be replaced by a modern terminal. It will open to passengers next spring. A new car park is also gradually taking shape.

Another important station in metropolis awaits reconstruction, Smíchov station will be completely transformed
Modernisation of two large railway stations in Prague will start soon. After Prague Masaryk railway station (Praha Masarykovo nádraží), Správa železnic is now looking for a construction contractor also for Praha-Smíchov station. The result will be completely modernised tracks and platforms, extended pedestrian underpasses under the whole station and also a new footbridge that will lead over the whole station and allow barrier-free access to individual platforms. The construction will be implemented between 2024 and 2027 at a total cost of CZK 5.2 billion.

Vlkov u Tišnova and entire interstation section to Křižanov will be modernised
Today, Správa železnic announced two more important tenders, the first for the total reconstruction of the railway station Vlkov u Tišnova, the second concerns the subsequent line section to Křižanov. The constructions are part of a package of other projects aimed at the modernisation of the Havlíčkův Brod line.
