Construction of the stop Pardubice centrum will start in September

The expected construction of the new stop Pardubice centrum knows its contractor and can begin. This project will significantly improve the accessibility of the city centre for passengers in the middle of next year. Trains from Jaroměř and Hradec Králové will arrive here, and it will also serve for the turnaround of trains providing connections between Pardubice and Chrudim.

Full work on the new stop will already start in September. The preparation of the construction was already underway as part of the modernisation of the Pardubice junction. The aim is to make the most effective concurrence of our two investments so that the construction of the new stop does not generate any interference with the already modernised infrastructure of the station. The work will be completed in May next year and trains will stop here regularly from 9 June,” introduces Director General of Správa železnic Jiří Svoboda.

A new tube has already been connected to the pedestrian underpass connecting Sladkovského and Rokycanova Streets as part of the ongoing construction, which is now blocked. It will be connected to a covered part of the sloping walkway. Passengers can also reach the platform via the access road from Jana Palacha Street.

The stop will consist of a double-sided platform with a length of 140 metres and a width of less than 9 metres between the new tracks 10a and 12a. Passenger access will be provided by covered sloping walkways 3 metres wide. The standard platform height will also enable them to board modern trains in comfort. They will also appreciate the shelters, benches, and lighting on the platform, including access routes. The installation of an information and orientation system, a station announcement system, and a camera system is also planned.

The value of the construction works is CZK 53,877,156. The contractor of the construction is the association of companies EUROVIA CS and Chládek a Tintěra Pardubice.
