New Railway Stop Písek jih Will Shorten the Way to the City Centre

This autumn already, inhabitants and visitors of the South Bohemian city of Písek will acquire a new railway stop situated closer to the city centre than the local railway station. Správa železniční dopravní cesty (SŽDC) selected the construction supplier.

A tender for construction of the railway stop Písek jih (Písek South) was won by the company EDIKT which offered a tendering price of almost CZK 21 million. SŽDC currently prepares the contract draft.

Construction of a new railway stop on the line 201 Tábor – Ražice will be assured by SŽDC based on a requirement of South Bohemia Region and the city of Písek. It will consist of a platform 90 metres long with barrier-free access for handicapped passengers. The boarding edge will be on the ground level of modern railway vehicles. The city will build a parking near the railway stop.

The construction’s implementation is planned for the third quarter of this year. Works will require a continuous closure in the term from 10 to 25 September.
