Pardubice centrum stop was given green light

The Central Commission of the Ministry of Transport approved the construction of a new stop Pardubice centrum. Správa železnic can now issue a tender for its implementation, which must take place simultaneously with the ongoing modernisation of the entire Pardubice station. The new stop will significantly improve the accessibility of the city centre for passengers, with trains from Jaroměř and Hradec Králové arriving here. At the same time, it will serve for the turnaround of trains providing connections between Pardubice and Chrudim.

Preparatory construction work is already underway as a part of the modernisation of the Pardubice junction, the construction of the stop itself will be able to start in August this year depending on the course of the tender for the contractor. The pedestrian underpass that connects Sladkovského and Rokycanova Street has already been connected to a new tube as part of the ongoing construction, which is now blinded. It is located directly under the track, perpendicular to the pedestrian underpass. It is connected to the covered part of the sloping access. Passengers can also reach the platform by the access road from Jana Palacha Street.

The stop will consist of an island platform with a length of 140 metres and a width of 8.76 metres between the new tracks 10a and 12a. The boarding edge will be 550 mm high. Passenger access will be provided by covered sloping walkways 3 metres wide. Shelters and benches will be placed on the platform and the whole platform, including the accesses, will be illuminated. It is also planned to install an information and orientation system, station announcement system, and a camera system as well.

The estimated value of the tender is CZK 44,161,612. The implementation is expected to take place from August this year to the middle of next year.
