Platforms in Lovosice will be barrier-free this year

Passengers in Lovosice will soon have a modern railway station. The construction, which is mainly aimed at building barrier-free access to all platforms in the station, was festively opened today by Správa železnic. Another positive feature will be the comfortable boarding of trains and the extension of the existing underpass under the entire track facility to Máchova Street. The reconstructed platforms will be opened at the end of this year.

A total of four platforms will be reconstructed, which will be raised to 550 mm above the track, i.e. to the level of the boarding areas of modern trains. To ensure barrier-free access to all platforms, lifts will be built.

The underpass will also be renovated and extended to Máchova Street. New lighting of the platforms and the underpass will also be built. The project also includes the reconstruction of station announcement system, information and orientation system for passengers and installation of surveillance cameras. The overhead line will also undergo necessary modifications.

The new platforms and the underpass to Máchova Street will be put into operation at the end of this year. Currently, Správa železnic also prepares the reconstruction of the Lovosice station building.

Total construction costs of the Reconstruction of platforms and establishment of barrier-free access at the railway station Lovosice amount to almost CZK 440 million. The contractor is the company Společnost Lovosice consisting of the partners SWIETELSKY Rail CZ and EDIKT.

The project is proposed for co-financing by the European Union through the Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF).
