Reconstruction of Adamov railway station finishes

Opening of the new car park near the station building marks the end of the reconstruction of the Adamov railway station. It included mainly the construction of two platforms and a new footbridge over the track facility connecting the station forecourt with Hybešova Street. The total investment costs of the construction exceeded CZK 1 billion.

Largest part of the reconstruction of Adamov railway station took place in parallel with works in the sections between Brno and Blansko. The station received a new footbridge and barrier-free platforms accessible by lifts. In the repaired station building, passengers use new check-in areas including sanitary facilities. The construction also includes a newly completed car park with a capacity of 30 vehicles,” says Jiří Svoboda, Director General of Správa železnic.

The modernisation also included the infrastructure of the station itself. The railway superstructure and substructure were repaired, new noise barriers were built and the third station track was extended, allowing freight trains up to 740 metres long to be handled.

The works were carried out by the association of companies Swietelsky Rail CZ and Elektrizace železnic Praha. The total investment costs of the construction amounted to CZK 1.1 billion.

The construction Reconstruction of platforms at railway station Adamov is intended for co-financing from the Cohesion Fund within the Operational Programme Transport 2021–2027.
