Revitalization Construction of the Line Týniště nad Orlicí – Broumov Is Complete

Reconstruction of an important railway section in Hradec Králové Region is complete. The line construction was carried out by the company Společnost Týniště – Broumov, associating the following construction companies: Starmon, EUROVIA CS, Chládek a Tintěra, Pardubice and GJW Praha. The project investor is Správa železniční dopravní cesty. In connection with works’ completion, the closure in this section ends as well.

The project concerns a nation-wide single-track railway line from Týniště nad Orlicí to Meziměstí. During modernization, current signalling equipment was replaced by a new one which can be controlled remotely. Reconstruction of the railway superstructure and substructure allowed eliminating continuous speed restrictions. Selected bridges and culverts were adapted as well; new platforms were built including an information and orientation system for passengers.

I think that we must thank the state and SŽDC for such an investment policy. I am glad that we started the so much needed modernization and I assume that this trend will continue. Every step, even a partial one, will allow increasing the number of train connections and their speed. Although this investment into the railway line from Týniště nad Orlicí to Meziměstí brought us a speed increase of several minutes only, it is not without results in a global context. The implemented construction which we must also thank its builders for confirms i.a. my favourite motto: When you really want to, you will find a way. Therefore we must not cease applying pressure on the state and urging for more investments into modernization of the railway network in our region“, says Mr. Martin Červíček, First Deputy Governor of the Hradec Králové Region who is responsible for the field of transport and road economy.

Works were going on in the section Opočno pod Orlickými horami – Hronov, the total length of the revitalized line being 28.6 km. Outside of this length, only cable adaptations and partial modifications of current technological equipment at railway crossings in sections Hronov – Police nad Metují and Teplice nad Metují – Meziměstí occur.

We launched this project in February last year. We have managed to complete it on the planned term, which is this June. The documentary part will continue till this December, but all restrictions related to the construction end now and passengers can use it in full“, said Ms Iveta Štočková, spokesperson of EUROVIA CS.

Total planned investment costs of the construction designated as Revitalization of the line Týniště nad Orlicí – Broumov equal CZK 1,270,027,079 (VAT excluded). The project is co-financed by the European Union from its Cohesion Fund under the Operational Programme Transport 2014–2020. The EU contribution can amount up to CZK 987,684,498. National financing is assured by the State Fund for Transport Infrastructure.
