Správa železnic Announced Another Competition for a Designer of a High-Speed Rail Line

Správa železnic has announced another public procurement for the supplier of the documentation for a zoning decision for the new network of HSR lines. The HSR Říp Hill Flatlands section is part of the line Prague – Ústí nad Labem – Dresden, which will ensure the connection of the Czech railway network to the European high-speed infrastructure. The designers will prepare detailed technical solutions for the line or measures to protect the population and the environment. The documentation will also incorporate the organisation of the construction of this nearly 60-kilometre section. The public contract also includes the preparation of documents for the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and the preparation of a digital model in the BIM standard.

The documentation for the zoning decision identifies the specific parcels of land required for the construction of the HSR. Správa železnic expects the completion of the zoning decision proceedings for this section in 2023. The first trains should run on the line around 2030.

“VRT Podřipsko” is designed for speeds of up to 320 km/h and will be used only for passenger service. A high-speed railway terminal will be built on the line near Roudnice nad Labem, for the design and construction of which Správa železnic has announced an architectural competition. In accordance with the concept of HSR in the Czech Republic, two exits to the existing railway network are planned on this section. They are proposed near Lovosice and Litoměřice to increase the availability of fast transport. Once launched, HSR Říp Hill Flatlands will shorten the journey from Prague to Ústí nad Labem by almost half an hour. Most notably however, it will offer a better transport connection to the inhabitants of the south-eastern part of Ústí nad Labem Region and adjacent areas of the Central Bohemia Region.
