Správa železnic launches pilot operation of mobile application ‘Datel’

Správa železnic launches a new mobile application Datel (Woodpecker in Czech) designed for passengers and railway fans. It gives users easy access to information on train locations, stations and stops across the country as well as details of railway constructions. The first phase will be testing the features and finalising the design.

The popular information service Datel, which after a year of operation on the network X has gained over 3 thousand followers, has also launched its mobile app for Android and iOS. In addition to live updates on traffic emergencies, the application Datel also integrates all other features of the Správa železnic's web-based Interactive map – tracking the location of trains, information on stations and stops, and details of upcoming, ongoing, and completed construction projects.

In the smartphone environment, Datel brings not only easy accessibility but also user-friendly design and new features. Traffic emergencies and updates on the pages Constructions can now be subscribed directly as system notifications. Users can now create their own profile and use the saved preferences in the Datel application across their devices and soon also on the web-based Interactive map.

The pilot will be used to test and gather feedback from the first users. We are also currently cooperating with the organisation Czech Blind United (SONS), thanks to which the application will be fully available to the visually impaired in the first half of this year. Suggestions and comments can be sent to datel@spravazeleznic.cz.
