Správa železnic obtained zoning decision for another section of airport line

With obtaining a binding zoning decision, the project to modernise the line between the stations Praha-Ruzyně and Kladno has reached another important milestone. Reconstruction of the more than 15 km long section, the main content of which is the double-tracking and electrifying of the line, is thus one step closer to realisation. It will bring an increase in train speed up to 140 km/h, fully barrier-free accessible stations and stops and up to 1,100 new parking spaces.

The construction will include building of a part of the line in a new track, reconstruction of the existing railway superstructure and substructure and installation of modern ETCS signalling equipment with remote traffic control. Thanks to the creation of new branch lines, which allow trains to switch from one track to another, higher line capacity will be ensured. The level crossings on the busiest roads will be removed and replaced with fly-over crossings, while the remainder will be upgraded.

Hostivice station will undergo a complete remodelling with two island platforms and two pedestrian underpasses planned. Jeneč station in its new location will have fully barrier-free platforms accessible from the underpass. Today's Unhošť station will be removed and replaced by Malé Přítočno stop on the new line relocation. Furthermore, Hostivice-Jeneček and Pletený Újezd stops will also be newly built and significantly enhance the accessibility of railway service to the inhabitants of the adjacent localities. Pavlov stop will undergo a complete renovation.

Selected railway stations will include the construction of new P+R parking lots, namely in Hostivice (461 spaces), Jeneč (256 spaces) and Malé Přítočno (384 spaces). Hostivice station will also feature a new P+R parking house, designed and financed by the Central Bohemian Region.
