Správa železnic Will Accelerate Preparations on Further HSL Prague – Brno – Břeclav Sections

The Central Committee of the Ministry of Transport approved the next stage of the HSL Prague – Brno feasibility study submitted by Správa železnic. It considers the outputs from the study’s partial fulfilment as sufficient for a decision on further continuation of the high-speed line preparation and on basic leading of its corridor.

Based on the Central Committee’s decision, Správa železnic is entitled to an accelerated procedure of HSL preparation for the invariant section Poříčany – Světlá nad Sázavou including reconstruction of the station Světlá nad Sázavou and for the invariant section Velká Bíteš – Brno with a connection to the conventional network in the area of Osová Bítýška and to the junction Brno in direction to Brno hlavní nádraží (Brno Main station) and Modřice.

The Central Committee of the Ministry of Transport also allowed Správa železnic continuing with the second phase of the feasibility study which will finalize the technical design of the infrastructure and verify operation solutions’ options based on a discussion with all parties concerned.

In order to accelerate HSL Prague – Brno – Břeclav preparation, Správa železnic will ask for an updating of Territorial Development Principles of Central Bohemia Region for the section Poříčany – Světlá nad Sázavou, as well as of Vysočina Region for the sections Poříčany – Světlá nad Sázavou and Velká Bíteš – Brno and of South Moravia Region for the section Velká Bíteš – Brno including a connection to the conventional network. A delimitation of a suggested corridor including a beneficial construction for locating transport infrastructure will be requested in the Territorial Development Principles for the sections mentioned above.

Správa železnic will also order an elaboration or possibly an implementation of survey works (geodetic bearing, geological search and environmental reconnaissance) for the sections Poříčany – Světlá nad Sázavou and Velká Bíteš – Brno including a connection to the conventional network. It will also have elaborated Documentation for issuing a decision on positioning a construction for both of these sections.
