Station building in Veselí nad Lužnicí undergone complete reconstruction

The reconstructed station building in Veselí nad Lužnicí opened to passengers, complementing the recently finished bus terminal funded by the city. Správa železnic completed the year-long renovation, which included changing the interior layout, moving the boiler room to the basement, building toilets accessible from the hall and new commercial space. Construction works were carried out by the company AVERS, the estimated investment costs amount to CZK 61.8 million.

Reconstruction of the station building started last May. In order to preserve the historical character of the building, the repair of the facade made of rough masonry also included the restoration of the original form of damaged stucco elements and the installation of wooden scuncheon windows. All doors and the roof, including the roof trusses, were also completely replaced.

Layout has changed on all floors of the building. New toilets were built on the first floor, which are also accessible from the hall. New commercial units have been created here as well, while the boiler room has been moved to the basement. On the second floor, office space was reconstructed for the needs of Správa železnic’ employees and future tenants, while the third floor is available for further commercial use. In addition, the sewerage, water, HVAC and electrical systems were renewed throughout the building.
