The historic building of Písek railway station is like new

Complete renovation of the station building in Písek station officially ended today. The whole building has been restored to its historical appearance, but at the same time it offers modern facilities for passengers and transport employees. The work of Správa železnic will now be followed by the town of Písek, which will adapt the station forecourt together with the reconstruction of the transport terminal.

The work included the modification and insulation of the facade and its addition of decorative elements. Windows and doors were replaced, and the building received a new roof made of alpine roofing. A parking space, a walkway and a grassed area were created in place of the extension.

On the ground floor, which is mainly used to provide operations and services for passengers, the layout has been changed, including the relocation of public toilets. New ticket offices for two carriers and staff facilities were created in the new check-in hall. The traffic office has also been renovated. Passengers have a new information system at their disposal.

The residential units on the first floor have been renovated and the attic of the building is structurally ready for future commercial use.

The contractor was the company EDIKT, the final form of the building was designed by the Architektonická kancelář Pavel Černohouz (Architectural Office Pavel Černohouz) and the company APREA. The total investment costs amounted to almost 66 million crowns.

The construction implementation was funded under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan from the European Union's Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF).
