Správa železnic Concluded a Contract for Documentation for the HSR South Moravia
More than 30-kilometre section of the high-speed railway between Modřice and Šakvice knows its designer. A consortium of companies led by company Valbek succeeded in the tender. The HSR line South Moravia should be one of the first high-speed lines to be implemented in the Czech Republic.

Správa železnic Announced Another Architectural Competition for HSR Terminal
Správa železnic has already announced the second architectural competition for the high-speed rail (HSR) terminal. The Roudnice nad Labem transfer hub will be part of the new railway connection Prague – Ústí nad Labem – Dresden, which will increase the accessibility of the new high-speed railway for the inhabitants of the region. The winning architectural-urban design should be presented at the beginning of next year.

ETCS System Installation on the Section From Praha-Uhříněves to Votice Has Been Completed
Správa železnic festively completed the next stage of ETCS installation on its backbone lines today. The section of the fourth transit railway corridor from Praha-Uhříněves to Votice is also equipped with single European signalling system now. The works were carried out here from November 2019 to May this year, the contractor was company AŽD.

Správa železnic Acquires Vectron Locomotive
Správa železnic has signed a contract with the company Siemens Mobility Česká republika for the purchase of a Siemens Vectron multi-system locomotive. The electric locomotive will be delivered this autumn. The railway infrastructure manager will use it for diagnostics of the domestic and foreign railway network, including the track-side part of the ETCS system.

Trains to Slovakia Run at Almost Double Speed Near Valašské Meziříčí
Reconstruction of the section Valašské Meziříčí – Hustopeče nad Bečvou was festively completed today at the modernised station Lhotka nad Bečvou. Its main benefit is an increase in line speed from 80 to 160 km/h and a corresponding reduction in train journey times. Work on the border between the Zlín and Olomouc Regions began in June 2019 and lasted less than two years.

Station Building of the Pilsen Railway Station Is Undergoing a Significant Transformation
Správa železnic has festively launched the reconstruction of the listed station building at the Pilsen main station. The actual construction work began in May and will take approximately two and a half year. It is being carried out by Společnost nádraží Plzeň, which consists of Metrostav DIZ, OHL ŽS and AVERS. For CZK 667.9 million, the West Bohemian metropolis will get a modern gateway to the city.

Správa železnic and DB Netz Have Selected the Designer of the Ore Mountains Tunnel
Správa železnic and DB Netz have concluded a contract with a supplier to ensure the project preparation of the cross-border section of the high-speed railway line from Prague to Dresden. The designers will thus soon start work on the documentation for the forthcoming Ore Mountains Tunnel.

World Architecture in Brno: Dutch Architects Benthem Crouwel Won International Competition for New Main Station
It has been decided - the new Brno main station will be built according to the design of the Dutch studio Benthem Crouwel Architects, which is behind the design of the railway station in Rotterdam or the reconstruction and extension of the station in Amsterdam. According to the winners, the Brno station will become a new gateway to the city and a positive impulse for the emerging Trnitá quarter on the banks of the Svratka River. The citizens of Brno will gain a modern transfer junction and a guarantee of further development of the local rail transport. The choice of the expert jury, which included architect Eva Jiřičná and urban planner Peter Gero, was confirmed this week by the Brno city administration and Správa železnic. The City of Brno Architect's Office, as the organiser of the competition, will exhibit all the designs, including a large model of the new city quarter, in the Cross Corridor of Brno's New Town Hall at the end of September.

Over Sixty Level Crossings Have Already Been Reconstructed This Year
Správa železnic is succeeding in implementing its plan to reconstruct 200 level crossings during this year. The railway infrastructure manager expects to invest almost CZK 2 billion in the modernisation of the railway infrastructure, which is largely connected with the increase of the safety level. In the first half of the year, reconstructions were completed at 65 level crossings. Construction work is currently underway on a further 67 level crossings.

Správa železnic Completed Renovation of Almost Three Dozen Station Buildings This Year
Správa železnic continues in the intensive renovation of station buildings across the country this year. A total of 114 buildings will be renovated or repaired, which will get modern check-in areas, barrier-free access and become a more pleasant and comfortable place for passengers and employees. By the end of June, 28 buildings had been completed. The financial costs of these planned construction projects will amount to CZK 2.015 billion.
