SŽDC Will Present Once Again Innovations of its Rolling Stock at the Czech Raildays Trade Fair

15.06.2018

Správa železniční dopravní cesty (SŽDC) will present this year at the railway technology trade fair “Czech Raildays” in Ostrava more innovations of its rolling stock. On Tuesday 19 June, the christening of a special car MUV 75 will take place first; following that, the infrastructure manager will festively take over the track recording gang car MMD 2. The SŽDC exhibition in Ostrava will also include a new handcar for railway substructure diagnostics and a traditional presentation of the SŽDC Fire Rescue Service.

The universal diesel vehicle o MUV 75 developed by the company CZ LOKO is designed for maintenance of railway lines. It satisfies the newest EU and TSI standards. In comparison to older types, it has a longer main frame and a bigger cabin with two driving posts for a crew of seven people at maximum. The ramp with a bearing capacity of five tonnes is occupied by a Palfinger crane which is being delivered with three types of grapples and a chopping device. The functional design of the vehicle front part contributes considerably to better aerodynamics. Its maximum speed of 75 kph assures higher action radius and shorter arrival times to the intervention site.

The small track recording gang car MMD.2 will serve for measuring geometric parameters of station running tracks. It is equipped by a contact measuring system with electronic sensors, analog/digital electronics and a measuring computer. Another computer on board processes individual signals and evaluates track geometry parameters. The recording gang car can reach a transport speed of 75 kph, its speed during measuring reaches 40 kph.

SŽDC currently operates 543 special hauling vehicles altogether for railway lines’ repairs and maintenance. The majority, more specifically 322 pieces consist of universal diesel cars MUV 69 in various versions serving for maintenance and repairs of railway lines on the nation-wide and regional networks and for carrying material and people. Several dozen gang cars of this type were already considerably modernized, the last version being precisely MUV 75. The last innovation is a trio of special vehicles MTW 100, designed for repairs and maintenance of the catenary.

Besides that, we must also mention almost 50 machine extractors of sleepers SVP which serve for works on the railway superstructure or for eliminating vegetation by a swap body with a mowing machine. The SŽDC rolling stock fleet consist also of vehicles designed for repairs and maintenance of the catenary and diesel gang trailers. 12 more vehicles are managed by the Technical Centre of Infrastructure (TÚDC), e.g. the measuring car for railway superstructure, a diagnostic unit for checking rails, a measuring car for track clearance or a measuring car for fixed traction installations.

An integral and very popular part of the SŽDC exhibition is the Fire Rescue Service’s stand. This year, a cableway leading from the lighting pole awaits visitors with a possibility to get dropped with protection. Railway firemen will also demonstrate putting a railway vehicle on the rails. A so-called first-ride vehicle CAS 20 Scania with the possibility of a guided tour will be situated in front of the trade fair area entrance.

You can find all presented vehicles and railway firemen at the freight in Ostrava on Track No 16 in Sector K25 for the whole trade fair duration, i.e. on 19 – 21 June 2018.
