Andrew McNaughton, British Advisor for High Speed Lines visited Prague

Professor Andrew McNaughton, a strategic advisor to the Ministry of Transport in fulfilling the Rapid Service Development Program in the Czech Republic approved by the Government this year, visited Prague on 10 and 11 October. He met both representatives of the Ministry of Transport and


Professor McNaughton acts as a Technical Director of the British High Speed Two (HS2) Project as well as the UIC High Speed Committee Chairman. A resolution of the Economic Committee of the Parliament of the Czech Republic as well as a March follow-up resolution of the Chamber of Deputies with regard to High Speed Lines served an impetus of his engagement in the preparation of High Speed Lines.

In the first day of his visit, the British specialist took part in the meeting of the Rapid Service Program Steering and Working Team with the Minister of Transport. An interesting discussion in relation to specific High Speed Lines projects in preparatory stage took place as a follow-up in the SŽDC premises. Professor McNaughton represents a source of invaluable practical experience and provides an important feedback for the SŽDC HSL Project Team as a whole.
