Slavkov u Brna, 29 June 2016 – Správa železniční dopravní cesty (the Railway Infrastructure Administration) has improved parameters of three sections of the line Brno – Uherské Hradiště, which is a part of “Vlárská line”. The main objective of these projects was to increase the line’s technical state to a level corresponding to European parameters and standards.

The following projects were implemented:

Line No. 340 Brno – Uherské Hradiště, branch line Brno-Černovice – Brno-Slatina
Line No. 340 Brno – Uherské Hradiště, section Šlapanice (excl.) – Blažovice (incl.)
Line No. 340 Brno – Uherské Hradiště, section Blažovice – Nesovice

The projects included construction works on superstructures and substructures, platforms, bridges, culverts, and railway crossings. Thanks to the improvement of line parameters, it was possible to increase the line speed to up to 100 km/h in the sections Brno-Černovice – Brno-Slatina and Šlapanice (excl.) – Blažovice (incl.).

“The works on the busy line Brno – Uherské Hradiště  increased, above all, travel comfort and traffic safety. Passengers will also appreciate shorter travel times and more convenient and safer movement on modified platforms,” summed up the benefits of the projects Mr. Pavel Surý, Director General of SŽDC.

All these projects will contribute significantly to improvement of railway’s accessibility, reduction of operational costs, and ensuring railway capacity and quality of railway traffic for prospective transport volumes. Another positive effect will be an increase of safety and continuity of railway transport.
