Třebívlice (Litoměřice District), 29 September 2016 – Správa železniční dopravní cesty (the Czech Railway infrastructure Administration) improved parameters on the railway line Lysá nad Labem - Ústí nad Labem. The main objective of this project was to achieve a technical state corresponding to EU parameters and standards. The construction contributed considerably to higher travelling comfort and safety for passengers as well as decreasing the noise burden in this section.

The project on this railway line included total exchange of the railway superstructure. Based on results of a geotechnical survey, railway substructure was saved in certain sections. Construction work on bridges and two railway crossings was also assured as well as exchanging affected catenary poles.

”One of the main assets of construction works carried out on the railway line in the section Litoměřice – Ústí nad Labem-Střekov is especially increasing travelling comfort and railway transport safety. The project implementation allowed using in full all possibilities of current infrastructure in this section which brings a decrease of journey times, improving train-sets’ turnovers as well as better connections. This will make railway transport more attractive for the travelling public“, said Mr. Pavel Surý, Director General of SŽDC.

In accordance with the global objective of Operational Programme Transport Priority Axis 1 which is to improve railway transport on the Trans-European transport network, higher transport availability was achieved, railway infrastructure capacity and railway operation quality for a prospective transport extend was assured. Another positive impact of the project is an increase of line speed and safety on railway crossings.

Total estimated costs of the construction designated as Line 072 Lysá nad Labem – Ústí nad Labem in the section Litoměřice – Ústí nad Labem-Střekov amounted up to CZK 309,535,891 (VAT excluded).
