CZK 39 million for Repairs of Railway Stations Buildings in South Bohemia This Year

Repairs of station buildings in South Bohemia started quite soon after their transfer to SŽDC management in 2016. Last year, it was possible to implement some of the larger projects such as repairs of the station building in Nové Hrady. ”During 2017, we have adapted the façade and the roofing on the platform including new pavement and paint on the railing. The station building acquired a new lighted inscription with the station name. Public areas are equipped with modern benches and waste bins“, says Mr. Tomáš Drmola, Deputy Director General for Property Management.

This year, the station building roof in Božejovice will also be repaired including an exchange of windows and doors and repairs of the façade and the platform roofing for a price of almost CZK 4.5 million. In Boršov nad Vltavou, the outer coating will be modified, windows and doors will be replaced. The planned investment for this year will reach CZK 2.5 million.  In Katovice, SŽDC invests CZK 4 million in repairs of the building outer coating including an exchange of windows and doors and roof adaptations; complete roof repairs of the passenger building in Mirovice will cost CZK 1.6 million. Another sum of CZK 1.5 million will be used this year for repairing the station building façade in Zlatá Koruna together with sheet metal parts, replacing windows and doors and repairing a lavatory listed building.

Also this year, works are planned to be launched on complete repairs of the passenger building in Český Krumlov. Up to the end of this year, approximately CZK five million will be invested, construction will continue next year. ”During next year we would like to start a complex reconstruction of the station building in Veselí nad Lužnicí, however this will depend on the amount of financial means approved. At the same time, project preparation for a complex reconstruction of the station building in České Budějovice is under way as this is an operation of the highest priority within the region. We are also preparing project documentation for complete repairs of passenger buildings in Tábor and Písek“, adds Mr. Tomáš Drmola.
