Today, SŽDC festively completed repairs of the passenger building

”Approximately three years ago, České dráhy as the original owner started the reconstruction. A roof, a part of windows and public lavatories were reconstructed. This year, SŽDC continued with the repairs. We focused on necessary repairs of the external coating, an exchange of the remaining windows and doors in the most exposed part of the first elevated floor, claddings or plumber components. We have unified building entrances, the structure was sanitised and dehumidified and the waiting room for passengers including new internal and external furniture was revitalised. Modifications concerned also the structure’s technical background, the main substation was relocated and more premises were freed for commercial use“, says Mr. Tomáš Drmola, Deputy Director General of SŽDC for Property Management.

Both the facade and the windows and doors of the passenger building in Rakovník were already in a totally unsuitable state. Moreover, the old windows lacked any isolation abilities so that maintaining the building was extremely demanding for power consumption. The works also included repairs of an unsatisfactory pavement; a new information system was installed as well as loudspeakers and lights.

The construction works had been carried out by the company DOSTA since this March; they were completed on 24 July. Total costs amounted to a sum of CZK 5.4 million.
