Chrudim, 3 June 2016 – Správa železniční dopravní cesty (the Czech Railway Infrastructure Administration – SŽDC) improved parameters on a part of the railway line Havlíčkův Brod – Pardubice. The main objective of the project is to achieve a technical state corresponding to EU parameters and standards.

The construction included adaptations of the railway superstructure and substructure on open line tracks and station tracks, an exchange of the track skeleton, building new platforms, reconstruction of current railway stations and crossings as well as renewal of signalling and communication equipment. The cable system was also adapted, drains were reshaped and ballast and selected culverts were reconstructed.

”The asset of the revitalisation is especially an increase of travelling comfort and safety on the line. Passengers will certainly also appreciate shorter journey times and more comfortable and safer circulation on the newly built platforms “, said Mr, Pavel Surý, Director General of SŽDC about positive impacts of the construction.

Builders constructed new central platforms at Chrudim, Slatiňany and Hlinsko v Čechách stations. Line sections between stations Chrást u Chrudimi – Slatiňany and Slatiňany – Chrudim were also reconstructed. A new overtaking station Cejřov was built between stations Vrbatův Kostelec and Prosetín.
