Veselí nad Lužnicí, 22 November 2016 – Správa železniční dopravní cesty festively completed the upgrade of the line Ševětín - Horusice. It was one of the ongoing constructions of Rail Transit Corridor IV from Prague to South Bohemia.

It is possible to classify the construction of the second track and especially increasing line speed and greater security and comfort for passengers among the most important benefits of the project. The modernization allowed reaching parameters of a transit corridor, primarily the desired track loading gauge, spatial continuity and permeability.

The original line speed of 100 km/h has been increased up to 160 km/h after the modernization. Thanks to this project, the fastest trains will be capable of reaching the distance from Prague to Brno in two hours.” stated Mr. Pavel Surý, Director General of Správa železniční dopravní cesty.

Railway stations Dynín and Horusice have undergone visible modifications. In Dynín, constructors have modernized railway branching in the direction of Veselí nad Lužnicí, modified the trackage and also built a new operational facility for the railway office and technology equipment in the vicinity of the station building. Horusice railway station has been rebuilt into a railway stop with external platforms with shelters for passengers. Besides the construction of the second track, a new level crossing safety device with gates was added.
