Another route section in the Valašsko region has undergone renovation

25.10.2016

Hranice na Moravě, 25 October 2016 – Správa železniční dopravní cesty (the Czech Railway Infrastructure Administration) has improved parameters of the railway track from Hranice na Moravě to Střelná in the Teplice nad Bečvou (excl.) – Hustopeče nad Bečvou (excl.) section. The main objective of the project was the restoration of its technical condition corresponding with European parameters and standards.

Within the project, modifications to the track superstructure and substructure, platforms, railway crossings, bridge structures, and subcomponents of the traction mains were made. In railway stations Černotín and Milotice nad Bečvou, new level foot-crossings were built for passengers, with a traffic-light interlocking system.

”The greatest benefit of construction works on the route 280 is in particular increased travelling comfort and operation safety. Project implementation enables to increase the speed limit in the section between the stations Teplice nad Bečvou and Hustopeče, which should have positive effects on reduced travelling times,” stated Pavel Surý, Director General of SŽDC.

In compliance with the global objective of the priority axis 1 of the Operating Program Transportation, which is the improvement of railway transportation on the trans-European Network TEN-T, increased transport availability was achieved, and track capacity and railway traffic quality for long-range transportation objectives were provided. Another positive impact of the project consists in increased safety on railway crossings.

Anticipated total cost of the project called Line 280 Hranice na Moravě – Střelná, section Teplice nad Bečvou (excl.) – Hustopeče nad Bečvou (excl.) was CZK 630,195,370 (VAT excluded). The project was within the Operating Program Transportation co-financed by European Union from the Cohesion Fund, up to the maximum amount of CZK 471,952,820. National funding was provided by the State Fund of transport infrastructure. The contractor was the company IDS – Inženýrské a dopravní stavby Olomouc a.s.
