Stops on the Ústí nad Labem-Střekov-Děčín východ Line Relocated Closer to Villages

Ústí nad Labem, 8 December 2016 – Správa železniční dopravní cesty (the Czech Railway Infrastructure Administration) improved parameters on the railway line Ústí nad Labem-Střekov – Děčín východ. The main objective of the project was to achieve a technical state corresponding to EU parameters and standards.

The project included a complete exchange of the railway superstructure on the line and technology used on the oldest crossing safety equipment as well as replacing the original block apparatus points Svádov and Těchlovice by semi-automatic line block systems allowing interlocked running of trains in both directions on both tracks. Railway stops Svádov and Těchlovice were relocated to new positions at railway crossings with new barrier-free platforms on the outer side of the tracks.

”One of the most important assets of the construction carried out in the line section Ústí nad Labem-Střekov – Děčín východ was especially an increase of travelling comfort and railway operation safety. Passengers will be also pleased by a shorter walking distance from the centre of Svádov and Těchlovice villages and higher comfort and safety on the newly built platforms”, said Mr. Pavel Surý, Director General of SŽDC.

In accordance with the Operational Programme Transport Priority Axis I objective which is an improvement of railway transport on the Trans-European Transport Network, higher transport availability was achieved as well as railway transport quality for the transport prospective extent.

Total estimated costs of the construction designated as Line 073 Ústí nad Labem Labem-Střekov – Děčín východ equalled CZK 429,914,951 (VAT excluded). The project was approved for co-financing by the European Union under the Operational Programme Transport with a planned amount of the contribution from the Cohesion Fund reaching up to CZK 277,119,761. National financing was provided by the State Fund for Transport Infrastructure. The construction’s suppliers were the companies KLEMENT a.s. and A-Híd Zrt.
