23.11.2017

Správa železniční dopravní cesty solemnly completed a construction called Raspenava Railway Station Interlocking Plant (SIP) Reconstruction. The biggest benefit of the project is a security and travelling comfort improvement and an increase in speed of railway transport by eliminating drops in line speed at level crossings.

This project’s objective was providing effective railway transport operation. The new station interlocking plant allowed eliminating drops in line speed at level crossings. Moreover, time savings were achieved at the crossing of trains or during train mergers and demergers in Raspenava Station. Construction improvements in Raspenava and Frýdlant v Čechách Stations increased passengers’ safety, thanks in particular to the construction of central foot level crossings and platforms. New lighting and an information system was established at these stations as well.

In addition, an improvement of level crossing safety installations formed part of the construction. The level crossings still equipped by St. Andrew’s cross only were supplemented by a flash light crossing protection installation. 17 level crossings were thus secured newly.

Total costs of the construction called Raspenava Railway SIP Reconstruction amounted to CZK 541,552,392 excl. VAT. This project was approved for co-financing by the European Union within the frame of Operational Programme Transport with a planned amount of contribution from the Cohesion Fund amounting up to CZK 427,413,682.
