Správa železnic presents work on high-speed line from Prague to Dresden at InnoTrans Fair
Joint Czech-German high-speed line (HSL) project from the capital city to Ústí nad Labem and Dresden is presented by Správa železnic at the traditional railway fair InnoTrans in Berlin. The information stand is part of the exhibition of the Free State of Saxony and the European Grouping for Territorial Cooperation (EGTC). The largest attraction of the project is the preparation of the Krušnohorský tunel (Ore Mountains Tunnel), which will be the longest in Central Europe with a length of up to 30 kilometres.

Presentation of modernisation of line section to Ostrovec took place in Kladno today
A presentation of the modernisation of the line section from Kladno to Kladno-Ostrovec took place today at Kladno station in the presence of the Minister of Transport Martin Kupka. The agreement with the contractor has been signed and preparatory works for the construction will start this year. The contractor of the works will be the company Společnost Kladno, which consists of EUROVIA CS as administrator and STRABAG Rail and Elektrizace železnic Praha as partners. The tendered price is CZK 3,691,998,007 excluding VAT and the construction will be completed at the end of 2024. The construction will be proposed for co-financing by the European Union from the Cohesion Fund under the Operational Programme Transport for the period 2021–2027.

First phase of reconstruction of station building in Teplice v Čechách begins
Today Správa železnic inaugurated the reconstruction of the listed building of Teplice railway station. First phase, which will end in December next year, includes a complete restoration of the roofs, including the roof trusses, the entire facade and the adjacent platform. The project, worth CZK 236.1 million, will be carried out by Chládek & Tintěra. The construction will be proposed for co-financing from the Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF) of the European Union within the National Recovery Plan (NRP).

Line relocation between Soběslav and Doubí u Tábora opens in South Bohemia
On Sunday, 11 September, first trains will run on the new line relocation between Soběslav and Doubí u Tábora. This will mark the end of the modernisation of the penultimate section of the railway corridor from Prague to České Budějovice. Full double-track operation will start in mid-December. Construction of the 8.8 km long section of the new railway started in September 2019; the contractor is an association of STRABAG Rail, EUROVIA CS and METROSTAV. Estimated costs amounted to CZK 4.8 billion. The project is co-financed by the European Union from the Cohesion Fund under the Operational Programme Transport 2014–2020.

Second track will be commissioned between Sudoměřice and Votice
On the first day of September, full-fledged double-track operation between Sudoměřice u Tábora and Votice begins. Since the beginning of July, only one track has been used in the section Červený Újezd u Votic zastávka – Votice, while construction work was still in progress on the other track. This is the end of the modernisation of this part of the fourth railway corridor from České Budějovice to Prague. The original line has been replaced by a nearly 20-kilometre-long relocation.

Train restrictions connected with works in section Kolín – Velim come to end
Správa železnic will complete construction work in the line section from Kolín to Velim today. Trains will thus start using both tracks again, as well as in the subsequent interstation section in the direction to Poříčany, which have already been modernised as part of the ongoing investment project. Result is, among other things, the new Cerhenice and Tatce branch lines, which enable an operational response to the current traffic situation on this busy corridor line. Last restriction will be the closure of two station tracks in Velim, but it will not have a significant impact on the regularity of trains.

Správa železnic is preparing speed increase on corridor between Pardubice and Uhersko
Správa železnic concluded a contract for the preparation of a project plan and related documentation for increasing the speed on the corridor from Prague to Ostrava, specifically between the stations Pardubice hlavní nádraží and Uhersko. Trains should run at 200 km/h in this section in the future. In addition to the reconstruction of the line, the stations Moravany and Kostěnice should also undergo modernisation.

High-speed line between Prague and Lovosice knows its designer
Správa železnic has concluded a contract with the provider of documentation for zoning decision of the section of the high-speed line VRT Podřipsko (HSL Říp Flatlands). In addition to the documentation, the designers will also prepare the project plan, documents for the EIA process and the digital model of the line in the BIM standard. Consortium of companies led by METROPROJEKT Praha was successful in the tender. The section will reduce the travel time between Prague and Ústí nad Labem by almost 30 minutes after its launch.

Správa železnic concluded contract with winner of architectural competition for Roudnice nad Labem HSL terminal
Winner of the architectural and urban design competition for the design and layout of the high-speed line (HSL) terminal near Roudnice nad Labem is the Rusina Frei architekti office. Authors of the competition proposal will now complete it and prepare the technical solution of the terminal in documentation for zoning decision.

Listed building in České Budějovice is gradually regaining its lustre
Complete reconstruction of the station building of the České Budějovice railway station is in full swing, work is continuing in the south and north towers, the facade is being repaired and individual parts of the roof structure are being installed. In the arrival hall, repairs of stucco elements and plaster continue, and restorers have finished work on the historical fresco. Low-current wiring, electrical wiring and technological equipment of the building are being installed. It is in the arrival hall that the first rooms will open to passengers at the beginning of next year, while the rest of the building will be open to passengers by the end of 2023.
