Ceremonial Breakthrough of the New Tunnel Took Place in Mezno Today
The modernisation of the fourth transit railway corridor in the Sudoměřice – Votice section is advancing to the next phase. With the participation of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport Karel Havlíček and Director General of Správa železnic Jiří Svoboda, the breakthrough of the Mezno tunnel was ceremoniously completed today.

Letohrad Station Has Modern Platforms Thanks to the Reconstruction
Správa železnic ceremoniously handed over to use the reconstructed Letohrad station today. Work has been going on here since last March; the result is, among other things, modern platforms for comfortable boarding. The biggest benefit for the inhabitants of the town was the construction of a pedestrian underpass under the entire station track, which provided direct access to the local part Kunčice.

Feasibility Study of a New Railway between Prague and Dresden is in the Final Stage of Processing
The Central Commission of the Ministry of Transport could assess a feasibility study for the construction of a new railway connection between Prague and Dresden already during September. Work on its completion was not hindered in any way by the termination of the contract with the original processor, the association of companies CEDOP+EGIS. The investment preparation of the cross-border part of the construction between Ústí nad Labem and Heidenau and between Prague and Lovosice / Litoměřice will continue immediately after the approval of the study. This section will be divided into two: Prague-Balabenka – Oleško branching-off point and Oleško branching-off point – Litoměřice.

Správa železnic Prepares the Construction of a Tunnel Between Prague and Beroun
Správa železnic announces a tender for the preparation of an update of the documentation for zoning proceedings for the construction of the new railway line Praha-Smíchov – Beroun. Its subject is the construction of a new double-track line on the 3rd transit corridor directly connecting the stations Praha-Smíchov and Beroun. The winner of the tender should be known this autumn.

Formal Event Symbolically Began the Reconstruction of the Station Building in České Budějovice
Although the construction work itself on the reconstruction of the historic station building in the South Bohemian metropolis has been underway since June, the formal launching event of this large-scale construction took place today. The total renovation of the listed building will cost CZK 689,485,000 without VAT and it is carried out by Společnost Metrostav – EDIKT – AVERS, consisting of these companies. It will be completed by the end of 2022.

Residents of Dynín and Neplachov Have Platforms Closer to Their Villages
Driving at speed of 160 km/h on next section of the fourth corridor; this is one of the concrete benefits of the completed modernisation of the double-track line between Dynín and Ševětín. Accessibility of the railway for the inhabitants of both municipalities has also improved, thanks to the relocation of the platforms in Dynín and Neplachov. The modernised section is ready for the installation of the European Train Control System (ETCS) now.

Station in Vysočany Will Be Changed Beyond All Recognition; Passengers Will Get a New Transfer to the Metro
In next four years, another line section between Lysá nad Labem and Prague will gain corridor parameters. Today, Správa železnic started ceremoniously reconstruction of its part from Mstětice to Praha-Vysočany. Thanks to it, the metropolis will get a new three-track section, including the Praha-Rajská zahrada stop, where there will be a transfer to the metro. The station in Prague's Vysočany will undergo a fundamental transformation as well.

Správa železnic Joined Another Line to Remote Traffic Control
At the beginning of June, Správa železnic connected Dětmarovice – Mosty u Jablunkova line section to the central traffic control system. Dispatchers from the Traffic Control Centre (TCC) in Přerov already control this line. By the end of June, the Ústí nad Orlicí – Lichkov section and the Plzeň main station will also be connected to the remote control system.

Reconstruction of the Section from Dětmarovice to the State Border with Poland Begins
The line section from Dětmarovice via Petrovice u Karviné to the state border with Poland awaits a complete reconstruction. Správa železnic has already signed a contract with the contractor. The project will be co-financed by CEF Blending, which combines funding from the EU's Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) and a loan from the European Investment Bank (EIB). Completion of the construction with a total investment cost of over CZK 3 billion is scheduled on July 2022.
