Length of Sections with Slow Rides on SŽDC Network Got Considerably Reduced
In the past 12 months, Správa železniční dopravní cesty (SŽDC) reduced considerably line sections where slow rides were introduced. In comparison to 30 June last year, the total length of so-called slow rides decreased by 39%. An even more considerable reduction by more than a half occurred for slow rides having been introduced due to the technical state of the lines.

Loket Has a Completely Repaired Railway Station
Today, Správa železniční dopravní cesty (SŽDC) festively handed over a repaired station building to representatives of the city of Loket. Many tourists arrive here by train especially in summer; now they have a quite new railway station at their disposal. By completely repairing the historical building, SŽDC contributed to a travelling culture increase in Karlovy Vary Region.

Studénka Railway Crossing Has a Project Intent for Grade-Separated Junction Prepared
Daring holiday months, Správa železniční dopravní cesty (SŽDC) will submit to the Central Committee of the Ministry of Transport for approval a project intent for replacing the current level crossing at Studénka by a grade-separated junction. At the same time, it elaborated documentation for a territorial proceedings decision which has been submitted to the building authority. The intent’s approval is conditioned by an approving standpoint of Studénka municipal representatives concerning a change of the city ground plan.

SŽDC Successfully Selected A Traction Power Supplier for 2019
Správa železniční dopravní cesty (SŽDC) successfully selected a traction power supplier for 2019 by means of an auction on the Power Exchange Central Europe (PXE). After ten years, SŽDC takes over from České dráhy the task to ensure the traction power supply for railway transport operators. With a requested amount of 1,310,128 MWh, this was the biggest auction in the history of the PXE platform for end customers so far.

Designers Will Start Dealing with Line from Praha-Výstaviště to Veleslavín
Preparations for the construction of a railway connection to Václav Havel Airport advanced further. Správa železniční dopravní cesty (SŽDC) selected a supplier of the Project Intent and the Documentation for territorial proceedings concerning modernization of a key section between Praha-Výstaviště (Prague Exposition Area) and Praha-Veleslavín Station. The tender was won by the companies METROPROJEKT Praha and SUDOP PRAHA with a price offer of CZK 64 million. The same documentation phase is now being prepared also for other constructions within this strategic railway project.

Railway Firemen Took Over New Water Tanks
Today, representatives of Rescue Fire Service of Správa železniční dopravní cesty (HZS SŽDC) took over in Jičín the first ten special water tanks vehicles. Investments into railway firemen’s emergency equipment will amount up to CZK 300 million this year and they will acquire 48 vehicles.

A Repaired Passenger Building Serves Travellers at Litoměřice horní nádraží
Today, Správa železniční dopravní cesty (SŽDC) festively opened a repaired passenger building at Litoměřice horní nádraží (Litoměřice Upper Station) by cutting the opening tape. The building was extensively reconstructed related to an already completed major reconstruction of the trackage. This finalized a complete modernization of the whole railway station and its immediate surroundings.

First Modernized Corridor Sections Are To Be Completely Reconstructed Next Year
Správa železniční dopravní cesty (SŽDC) intensely prepares 8 constructions being characterized (with one exception) as a reconstruction of the firstly modernized sections of Czech Rail Transit Corridors I and II. Financing should be assured by a combination of national resources and an investment loan of the European Investment Bank (EIB), completed in two cases by a contribution from the Connecting Europe Facility programme (CEF) which was acquired by SŽDC following a successful application submitted within the CEF Blending Call. Its priority is financing constructions for eliminating bottlenecks and completing missing connections. The intents of the first operations’ project have already been approved by the Central Committee of the Ministry of Transport.

While Cutting Vegetation, SŽDC Acts In Accordance with Valid Laws
Among others, the duties of Správa železniční dopravní cesty (SŽDC) as railway infrastructure manager in the Czech Republic include ensuring safety and smoothness of rail operation. Exceptional events which can stop train operation on railway lines can be caused i.a. by falls of trees into the trackage. SŽDC strives to limit such cases to a minimum and uses all its possibilities for this purpose. In accordance with valid laws, it cuts woody species within the protective zone of the railway.

Necessary Construction Works at Brno Main Station Will Influence Trains’ Running
Passengers in the Moravian capital must expect changes in trains’ running during these holidays already. On 16 July, a continuous closure of dead-end tracks at Platforms 5 and 6 will start at Brno Main Station due to the launch of two large reconstructions of railway bridges over Hybešova and Křídlovická Street. As of September, some trains will be therefore using the lower station (dolní nádraží) where the first adaptations already started.
