Správa železnic Announced Another Competition for a Designer of a High-Speed Rail Line
Designers will prepare documentation for a zoning decision for the High-Speed Railway (HSR) line section VRT Podřipsko (HSR Říp Hill Flatlands), which will connect Prague with Lovosice. The line is part of the new railway connection from the Czech capital to Dresden, Germany.

Správa železnic Obtained a Zoning Decision for the Modernisation of Masaryk Railway Station
Project of major modernisation of the Prague Masaryk railway station (Praha Masarykovo nádraží) is again closer to its realisation, because Správa železnic has a final zoning decision. The construction work itself will begin in 2023 and will include, among other things, expanding the existing number of tracks from seven to nine, building a new vestibule in the form of a roof connecting the area of Na Florenci, Hybernská and Opletalova Streets with accesses to the individual platforms. The speed of trains will be increased and track will be built for operational maintenance of trains in the Hrabovka locality.

Transformation of Holešovice Begins: Správa železnic Has Announced a Tender for Modernisation of Bubny – Výstaviště Line Including Railway Stations
Modernisation of the railway line from Prague to Kladno with a branch line to Václav Havel Airport Prague has moved to the next phase. Správa železnic announced a tender for the contractor of the section Praha-Bubny – Praha-Výstaviště. The highest admissible bid price for the contract is CZK 3.8 billion. By the implementation of this construction, it will begin a major transformation of Prague's Holešovice, which will be connected by a completely new district in the place of today's Bubny railway station. The modernisation will be completed by 2025 and will become one of the pillars of the future development of the entire area.

Reconstruction of Vsetín Station Begins
Správa železnic has selected a contractor that will carry out a complete reconstruction of Vsetín station within three years. The construction with the total cost of over CZK 3 billion will be carried out by the association consisting of OHL ŽS, STRABAG Rail and AŽD. The change of the track facility configuration will replace the inadequate level platforms in the curve with new ones, which will have a standard height of 550 millimetres above the track and barrier-free access. A common terminal for rail and bus transport will be used for passenger check-in.

Modernisation of the Corridor Will Stop Train Operation between Brno and Blansko for a Year
With a ceremonial tap on the rail, Správa železnic launched the implementation of three important projects between Brno and Blansko. Specifically, it concerns the modernisation of the inter-station sections between Brno-Maloměřice and Blansko (two separate constructions) and the reconstruction of Adamov station, which will receive, among other things, new platforms. The construction works will completely stop the operation of trains between Brno and Blansko from the middle of this December. The first two projects are co-financed by a loan from the European Investment Bank (EIB), the project called Reconstruction of platforms at the railway station in Adamov is nominated for co-financing by the European Union from the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF 2).

Správa železnic and SNCF Réseau Have Concluded a New Cooperation Contract for the Preparation of HSR Lines
Správa železnic continues its successful cooperation with the French State Railways on the high-speed railway (HSR) lines project. A new contract with SNCF Réseau will ensure consultation in the next stages of preparation for the coming 8 years.

Reconstruction Will Improve Line Parameters for Freight Trains in Děčín
Freight trains will soon use the reconstructed line between the stations Děčín východ and Děčín-Prostřední Žleb, which is part of the Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T) freight corridor. The construction with the estimated total investment costs of CZK 1,138,717,343 was festively opened today by Správa železnic. The electrified section of approximately 1.4 kilometres long will undergo a complete renovation, and in addition to the Děčín Tunnel, it includes a bridge over the Elbe River as well. Trains will return to the reconstructed line next year in November and the entire construction will be completed in mid-2023.

Further Progress in the Preparation of the Line Modernisation Praha – Kladno
Preparation of the modernisation of the railway line from the centre of Prague to Kladno has reached another crucial point. Správa železnic has announced a tender for the contractors of construction works for the section from Kladno to Kladno-Ostrovec. The construction is planned to start next year and will include a complete reconstruction, double-tracking and electrification of the entire section. Completion of all stages of the project is expected in 2029.

New Station at Zahradní Město Opened for Passengers in Prague
Passengers can use the new railway station Praha-Zahradní Město from today. As in the case of the extended northern underpass at the main station, the ceremonial handover of the construction to the public was attended by Prime Minister Andrej Babiš and Minister of Transport Karel Havlíček. The station at Zahradní Město is part of the newly built transfer terminal, which will significantly improve public transport travel in this part of the metropolis.

Extended Underpass Opens at Prague Main Station
Správa železnic opens today, in a temporary mode, the extended northern pedestrian underpass at the largest Czech passenger railway station, which will shorten the journey from the city centre to the adjacent districts. The construction works took approximately 16 months and were carried out at a cost of CZK 219.55 million by the association of companies MTS+HT CZ – Podchody hl. n., whose partners are Metrostav and HOCHTIEF CZ.
