Trains Return to the Renovated Negrelli Viaduct
Správa železnic has completed the reconstruction of the historic Negrelli viaduct. The trains return to it on Monday 1 June, today the entire building was inspected by Prime Minister Andrej Babiš, accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport Karel Havlíček and Director General of Správa železnic Jiří Svoboda. The listed bridge has been used for traffic in the capital city since 1850, and the last finishing works on it are taking place nowadays.

Almost 47 Billion Crowns Will Go to Investments, Repairs and Traffic Management this Year
This year, Správa železnic has at its disposal the amount of CZK 46.9 billion, which will be directed mainly to the reconstruction, repair and maintenance of the railway lines. This amount includes an increase in the budget of the infrastructure manager by CZK 3.5 billion, which was recently approved by the government. This is the second highest amount in the history of Správa železnic. From this point of view, the year 2015 was a record year, when thanks to the end of the first period of the EU Operational Programme Transport, it had CZK 50.2 billion at its disposal.

Reconstruction of the Dispatch Building in České Budějovice Begins
Správa železnic has selected the contractor for the reconstruction of the České Budějovice dispatch building. It became the company Metrostav – EDIKT – AVERS, formed by the mentioned companies. The total renewal of the listed building, which will retain its historical character after the completion of the work and will become a dignified gateway to the South Bohemian metropolis, is going to cost CZK 689,485,000 without VAT.

DB Netz and Správa železnic have published an invitation to the tender for project management in common planning space as a part of the project New railway service Dresden – Prague. Tender fulfilment for the pre-project preparation phase is estimated between 2020-2024.

Správa železnic Opens a Repeated Tender for Elaboration of Documentation for Zoning Decision to the First High-Speed Line Section
Today, Správa železnic published a repeated tender for elaboration of the Documentation for the issuance of the decision on the location of the construction of the first high-speed line (HSL) in the Czech Republic in the section Praha-Běchovice – Poříčany (so-called “VRT Polabí” in Czech – “HSL Labe Flatlands” in English).

Správa železnic Increases Security of Dozens Further Crossings This Year
Throughout the country, Správa železnic is increasing the level of security at level crossings, which have been identified as potentially risky in terms of possible collisions between cars and railway vehicles. It includes the addition of warning lights, the installation of barrier crossbars and also new technologies of composite crossbars with LED diodes.

Railway Transport Restrictions Affect Long-Distance and Regional Trains
Based on the Governments decision, all cross-border and long distance international railway transport of passengers was stopped as of Saturday 14 March. As of Friday 20 March and Saturday 21 March, a reduction of domestic long-distance transport ordered by the State started taking place; some commercial trains dispatched by individual carriers also stopped running.

Cooperation Agreement between Správa železnic and SNCF Will Speed Up and Make the Preparation of HSL Cheaper
Today, Správa železnic signed an agreement with SNCF on the provision of services in preparation for the construction of high-speed lines (HSL) in the Czech Republic. The agreement is another logical and follow-up step that will ensure continuous control of documentation for zoning decisions and continuation of works on next technical regulations, which will enable not only further stages of HSL project preparation in the future, but also their construction, putting into operation, regular operation and maintenance.

Intelligent Level Crossing Cameras Start Operating in the Middle of May
The next intelligent camera will be installed at a level crossing on 18 May. Following the pilot project in Úvaly u Prahy, the second smart camera will be monitoring drivers´ offences at the railway crossing in Uhersko. Records of this device will assist the Czech Police in administrative proceedings against offenders. In extreme cases, an undisciplined driver can lose his driving licence.

ETCS Will Cover Hundreds of Additional Kilometres of Czech Railway Lines Soon
Správa železnic continues to implement the single European Train Control System (ETCS) on its network. It will soon be acquired by a part of the Third transit corridor, section Pilsen (excl.) – Cheb, where the work has moved from the preparatory phase to implementation. A total of 111 km of the railway line will be covered. The work continues intensively also on the sections Praha-Uhříněves – Votice and Kralupy nad Vltavou – Praha – Kolín.
