Správa železnic looking for Supplier for Further Plzeň Junction Reconstruction Stage
Správa železnic will continue reconstructing the Plzeň railway junction. During these days, it opened a tender for reconstruction of a line section almost four kilometres long between the Lobzy part of Plzeň main station and Koterov station which will no longer serve passenger transport when works are complete. It will be replaced by a newly built railway stop Plzeň-Slovany. Speed of trains will increase from the current 100 kph up to 120 kph.

Správa železnic will Repair a Bridge on the Line Rumburk - Sebnitz
At the end of February, Správa železnic signed a contract with the supplier of a complete reconstruction of a bridge over Karolína Valley in the village Vilémov u Šluknova on the railway line Rumburk – Sebnitz. The reconstruction will ensure keeping this cross-border line rideable in required parameters. This investment for a price of approximately CZK 217 million will be implemented by the company Společnost – most přes Karolinino údolí, consisting of the firms FIRESTA-Fišer, rekonstrukce, stavby and Chládek a Tintěra, Pardubice.

Správa železnic signed Today a Common Declaration to the New Line Dresden – Prague
Mr. Jiří Svoboda, Director General of Správa železnic, signed today in Dresden a common Czech-German declaration on cooperation and support in planning a new railway construction Dresden – Prague. The other signatories of this document are the Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure, the Ministry of Transport of the Czech Republic, Deutsche Bahn and the Free State of Saxony.

Due to Ongoing Construction, Letohrad will be without Trains for Two Months
Especially due to an exchange of the catenary in the whole station and trackage repairs on both its ends, operation at Letohrad Station in the Pardubice Region will be stopped completely from 29 February to 21 April; all trains will be replaced by buses. Správa železnic has been modernizing this station since last March and construction works are near completion. They should be finished in the first half of July.

An Exposition will Introduce Architectonic Designs of Praha-Veleslavín Station
In connection to the completed international architectonic contest for the future shape of Praha-Veleslavín railway station, Správa železnic prepared in cooperation with the Prague 6 city part an exposition of architectonic designs. All studies elaborated will be free to see for interested visitors from 24 February to 3 April 2020 in the Prague 6 City Hall. Praha-Veleslavín Station is part of the construction Modernization of the line Prague – Kladno with a connection to Václav Havel Airport.

Správa železnic Calls a Tender for Modernization of Pardubice Railway Junction Construction Supplier
Modernization of the railway infrastructure at Pardubice main station will result in a noise decrease and a speed increase of passing trains. Passengers will have at their disposal repaired centre platforms with barrier-free access, a new orientation system, station radio, lifts and escalators.

Ministry of Environment Extended Positive EIA Standpoint to Reconstruction of Nemanice – Ševětín Section
Správa železnic successfully continues its intense preparations of another and final construction on Czech Rail Transit Corridor IV in the Nemanice – Ševětín section. Last October, it acquired a valid territorial decision and on 14 February 2020, the Ministry of Environment extended the EIA positive standpoint by five more years.

Variants of Střešovice Tunnels will be assessed by International Experts
Knowledgeable world experts in tunnel construction will become involved in dealing with the most challenging railway section between Dejvice and Veleslavín leading to the airport. Správa železnic announced this on Thursday 20 February 2020 during a public meeting of the Prague 6 city part Municipal Council where it presented all solutions being under consideration.

Reconstruction of Passenger Building at Třebíč Launched, to be completed in a Year
Správa železnic launched a complex reconstruction of the passenger building at Třebíč Station. Works will last till February next year; they include both adaptations of the building’s cladding including the facade with heating and modernization of the interior together with dispositional changes. Total investment costs of the construction amount to CZK 27.5 million.

Správa železnic Noted 296 Events during the Sabine Storm
In connection with the Sabine storm (in English called Ciara) which stroke the majority of the Czech Republic’s territory at the beginning of this week, Správa železnic noted 296 events in total, from which operation was stopped in 192 cases. In the vast majority, operation was stopped due to trees fallen on the railway line. Fortunately, only in eight cases trains collided with tress, which is good news. Total damage amounted almost to CZK 9 million.
