The Prevention Train for a Safe Railway Heads to Brno
The successful project of České dráhy and Správa železniční dopravní cesty “Prevention Train for a Safe Railway” participates this year too in the project “Days in Brno without Accidents”. It will be awaiting students from high schools from 5 to 7 June at Brno-Královo Pole Station.

Railway Station Building in Příbram Substantially Modernised
Správa železniční dopravní cesty (SŽDC) completed a few weeks ago the reconstruction of the railway station building in Příbram. Construction works lasted from last September till this April. The construction was carried out for a sum of approximately CZK 8.9 million by the company STAV – TECH – CAR.

Repairs of Passenger Building At the City Railway Station in Kutná Hora
Správa železniční dopravní cesty (SŽDC) completed the reconstruction of the passenger building at the railway station Kutná Hora město (City Kutná Hora). Construction works lasted from last August till this spring; the costs reached almost to CZK 8.8 million. The construction’s general designer was the company Rekomont.

SŽDC Prepares Operation Renewal on the “Sázava Pacific” Line Section from Kácov to Zruč nad Sázavou
These days, Správa železniční dopravní cesty (SŽDC) finalises contractual documents for a public tender for operation renewal on the railway line No 212 which connects Čerčany, Ledečko, Kácov, Zruč nad Sázavou and Světlá nad Sázavou. Repair works on the popular “Sázava Pacific” line should start this autumn; their completion is expected next June so that all trains can return on the tracks with the main tourist season start. Estimated costs related to operation renewal should not exceed CZK 600 million; the exact sum will be known based on the tender for suppliers in preparation.

Bridges under SŽDC Administration Are Safe and Not Dangerous for Operation
The fall of a footbridge over Vltava River in the Prague Park of Troja naturally arose the interest of the public in the state of bridges in the Czech Republic. With the exception of sidings, practically all such constructions on the railway are being managed by Správa železniční dopravní cesty (SŽDC). The railway infrastructure manager regularly controls all bridges and adopts necessary measures in case of need in order to preserve operation safety; however, this can be influenced also by overpasses belonging to other owners.

SŽDC Discussed Priorities in Railway Transport with Central Bohemia Representatives
Správa železniční dopravní cesty (SŽDC) met with representatives of the Central Bohemia Region with the objective to deal with immediate needs and plans of the public transport ordering authority. The main discussion topic was dealing with the dismal situation and problems on selected regional lines which slow and complicate regional transport.

SŽDC Introduces Centralised Risk Management System
Based on its management’s decision, Správa železniční dopravní cesty (SŽDC) introduces a centralised risk management system. Its objective is to analyse current and future risks throughout the whole organisation and actively mitigate the probability of their occurrence and the gravity of their undesirable impact. The current administration and management process of our organisation will thus get even more effective.

Railway Station Buildings on Narrow-Gauge Line to be Owned by an Association of Municipalities
This year, railway station buildings along the narrow-gauge line Třemešná ve Slezsku – Osoblaha will have a new owner – the company Osoblažská úzkorozchodná dráha, o.p.s. which includes four municipalities from the Osoblaha micro-region. Keys will be symbolically handed over on Tuesday 8 May 2018 on the occasion of the festive launch of the new tourist season on this line. The legal aspect of this procedure should be dealt with up to the end of summer holidays.

Cheb Station Will Acquire Barrie-Free Access to Platforms
Today, modernisation of Cheb Station as the most important railway junction in the entire Karlovy Vary Region was launched by a festive tapping on a rail. The investor of this construction with total estimated costs exceeding half a billion Czech crowns is Správa železniční dopravní cesty (SŽDC); the implementation will be carried out by the company STRABAG Rail.
