Modernization of Sudoměřice - Votice Railway Line Will Considerably Shorten Travelling to Southern Bohemia
The signing of a contract between Správa železniční dopravní cesty (SŽDC) and the OHL ŽS company practically started the extensive reconstruction of one of the last parts of Czech Rail Transit Corridor IV from Southern Bohemia to Prague. Besides a second track, two new tunnels and one railway station will be constructed in the line section from Sudoměřice u Tábora to Votice. Total estimated construction costs exceed a sum of 7 billion Czech crowns.

Railway Station Buildings Reconstructions Spent More Than One Billion Crowns This Year
By the project work progress and the volume of financial means allocated, Správa železniční dopravní cesty (SŽDC) updated a station buildings reconstruction mid-term plan presented for the first time in August last year. Up to now, more than 800 Mio crowns was invested to station buildings repairs and triggered reconstructions with more than 1 billion to be spent this year to this end.

Four-Track Railway Line To Be Established in the Capital in Three Years
Today, Správa železniční dopravní cesty (SŽDC) signed a contract with a group of companies Metrostav, Swietelsky Rail CZ and SMP CZ on modernization of the line section between Praha - Hostivař Station and Praha Hlavní nádraží Station. By the end of the year, the first ever four-track line will be established thanks to this modernization in the SŽDC network. The construction follows the already finished reconstruction of Praha - Hostivař Station with its results being, inter alia, a new station in Zahradní Město and the stop in Eden.

Second Bridge Over Mikulášská Street in Plzeň Taken Down
Modernization of railway bridges over Mikulášská Street in Plzeň enters into its second half. After a successful putting into operation of the northern bridge of two rail bridges last year, today, the 19 February, the southern bridge will start to be removed. Both bridges served their service continuously more than a hundred years. The whole event is part of the reconstruction of Plzeň railway junction.

Taking Down Two Bridges Keeps Negrelli Viaduct Modernization Running
The reconstruction of Negrelli Viaduct in Prague centre is entering its next stage. In the following days, the steel bridge over Prvního Pluku Street will be taken down to be replaced by a new reinforced concrete structure with steel beams. In a few weeks, the bridge over Křižíkova Street will be taken down as well. Upon the completion of works on the relocation of departing vehicles parking slots, main construction works in the area of Autobusové nádraží Florenc (Florenc Bus Station - FBS) will start as well.

SŽDC Keeps on Increasing Level Crossings Safety
Správa železniční dopravní cesty (SŽDC) plans to invest 814 million Czech crowns this year to enhance 82 level crossings safety. In addition to modernization of the oldest types of safety installations, it makes up twenty level crossings by barrier beams with other four level crossings to be equipped by warning lights. Dozens of other level crossings will undergo a comprehensive renovation to be focused on the surface of level crossing structure as well. The administrator of the Czech railway network will keep on paying attention to new technologies testing and making preparation of grade separated crossings constructions faster.

Repairs of another Passenger Building in Central Bohemia Ended
The Central Bohemia city of Zdice can pride itself with a newly repaired railway station building. Správa železniční dopravní cesty (SŽDC) completed repairs of another railway station in the region. Modernization of the passenger building was going on since last August up to January this year with costs amounting up to a sum of almost 8.8 Mio CZK.
