Revitalisation of the Line Frýdlant nad Ostravicí – Valašské Meziříčí Improved Its Parameters
Frýdlant nad Ostravicí, 1 December 2016 – Správa železniční dopravní cesty (the Czech Railway Infrastructure Administration) improved parameters of a part of the railway line Frýdlant nad Ostravicí – Valašské Meziříčí. The main objective of the project was its putting into a technical shape which would correspond to EU parameters and standards.

SŽDC Converts to Central Mode of Purchase
Správa železniční dopravní cesty deals in a long term with effective possible savings while purchasing commodities necessary for repair, maintenance and modernisation works on Czech railway networks. Now it came with a solution of a central mode of material purchase which will allow it to save dozens of millions Czech crowns per year.

SŽDC Decided on Infrastructure Capacity Allocation on the Line Praha - Brno
Správa železniční dopravní cesty decided within the legitimate term, i.e. up to 30 November 2016 on allocating infrastructure capacity in case of applications submitted by the carriers České dráhy and RegioJet for identical connection routes on the line Praha – Brno. The infrastructure manager had to wait i.a. for the court decision concerning a claim of one of the carriers for issuing a preliminary measure consisting in a prohibition of infrastructure allocation on the required train route to the other carrier.

Praha-Hostivař Railway Station Got a Modern Shape
Prague, 29 November 2016 – Today, Správa železniční dopravní cesty (the Czech Railway Infrastructure Administration) festively completed the reconstruction of Praha-Hostivař railway station as the first step of an extensive project having as objective to modernise the Prague railway junction in the section from Hostivař almost up to the Main Station.

Project Preparation of Railway Connection between Veleslavín and Václav Havel Airport Gets Green Light
Modernisation of the line Praha – Kladno with a connection to Václav Havel Airport is a priority transport construction of the Czech government and one of the most extensive infrastructure projects in the Czech Republic in preparation. Today, Správa železniční dopravní cesty signed a contract with the winning association of companies Metropojekt and Sudop Praha for the preparation of project documents to the railway connection between the Prague quarter Veleslavín and Václav Havel Airport.

SŽDC Protects Interests of the State and Will Reimburse Funds for Repairs of Praha-Hlavní nádraží to Avoid Penalty.
Správa železniční dopravní cesty (the Czech Railway Infrastructure Administration) will transfer a sum amounting approximately CZK 500 Mio to the account of the company Grandi Stazioni Česká republika s.r.o. By this step, the railway infrastructure manager endeavours to prevent a purposeful abuse of contractual penalties should it wait with payment till the end of the lawsuit. The sum is based on an expert’s statement ordered by the state organisation itself due to purposeful un-cooperation of the company Grandi Stazioni (GS).

Traveling on the Line Ústí nad Orlicí - Letohrad Now Faster and More Comfortable
Letohrad, 24 November 2016 – Správa železniční dopravní cesty improved parameters of the rail line Ústí nad Orlicí – Lichkov in the section between stations Ústí nad Orlicí and Letohrad. The main objective of the project was putting it into a technical state corresponding to European parameters and standards.

Another Double-Track Section Added on the South Bohemian Corridor
Veselí nad Lužnicí, 22 November 2016 – Správa železniční dopravní cesty festively completed the upgrade of the line Ševětín - Horusice. It was one of the ongoing constructions of Rail Transit Corridor IV from Prague to South Bohemia.

Revitalisation of the line from Bludov to Jeseník improved its parameters considerably
Ruda nad Moravou, 15 November 2016 – Správa železniční dopravní cesty (the Czech Railway Infrastructure Administration) festively completed the revitalisation of the line in the section Bludov – Jeseník. The main asset of the project is especially a line speed increase and a journey time decrease. The revitalisation also contributed to higher safety, travelling comfort and operation reliability of the line.

Students tried out working as a train dispatcher
Správa železniční dopravní cesty (the Czech Railway Infrastructure Administration - SŽDC) has been offering since last year already the possibility to try out some professions from the railway. Thanks to the project “Become a…. for one day”, students have the possibility to visit selected workplaces of the railway infrastructure manager and discover what work on a given position is like.
