SŽDC Invests over CZK 1.1 Billion into Reconstruction and Modernization of Railway Crossings This Year
Continuous railway operation safety increase and even better equipment of railway crossings is one of the priorities of Správa železniční dopravní cesty (SŽDC). This year, it will invest more than CZK 1.1 billion into this area. Besides that, over CZK 650 million were invested into repairs and maintenance of current railway crossings.

Passengers Will Start Using a New Stop at Písek
Today, Správa železniční dopravní cesty (SŽDC) festively opened a new stop Písek jih. Passengers will start using it as of 15 December with the new timetable validity start. The stop will be used not only by regular trains between Tábor and Ražice but also newly introduced through trains connecting Tábor with Strakonice. Total investment costs amounted to a sum of CZK 25.8 million.

SŽDC Concluded a Memorandum of Cooperation with the Czech Police
Mr. Jiří Svoboda, Director General of Správa železniční dopravní cesty (SŽDC), and Mr. Jan Švejdar, Chief of Police of the Czech Republic, signed today a Memorandum of Cooperation. This concerns especially increasing safety at railway level crossings and in passenger buildings as well as using SŽDC buildings by the Czech Police.

Shifted Stop Chrást u Plzně obec Will Improve Travelling Comfort
As of 15 December, boarding and disembarking trains at the stop Chrást u Plzně obec will improve. This was achieved by its shifting from a curve with a small radius to a straight track which allowed building an elevated platform with a standard height of 550 millimetres above the rail here. Today, Správa železniční dopravní cesty (SŽDC) arranged a festive opening of this shifted stop situated in a village near the West Bohemian capital.

SŽDC Opens a Tender for an Underpass Extension at Prague Main Station
In the days to come, Správa železniční dopravní cesty (SŽDC) will open a public tender for an underpass extension at Praha hlavní nádraží (Prague Main Station). The tender also includes building a connection for passengers leading to the buildings of the adjoining commercial centre with another connection to Winston Churchill Square. Works should be launched next May and completed in August 2021. The public tender’s estimated value equals CZK 142 million.

Havlíčkův Brod Has Two More Platforms Reconstructed
More comfortable access to platforms and trains’ boarding was provided by a construction which was festively completed today by Správa železniční dopravní cesty (SŽDC) in Havlíčkův Brod. Works at the most important railway junction in Vysočina Region were going on since August last year having as objective a reconstruction of Platforms No 1 and 4 and adjoining tracks.

Preliminary Market Consultation to New Dresden - Prague Railway Line Project Attracted Foreign Suppliers
On Wednesday 15 January 2020, a preliminary market consultation took place in Prague, focused on informing potential suppliers about the mode of opening public tenders which will be implemented by Správa železnic and DB Netz AG within common preparation of the cross-border Krušné hory (Ore Mountains) tunnel.

An International Jury Selected the Winning Proposal of the Architectonic Contest for Praha-Veleslavín Station
Správa železniční dopravní cesty (SŽDC) presented the winning proposal for the future shape of Praha-Veleslavín railway station which has been recommended for implementation by the architectonic contest international jury. It was announced by SŽDC in connection with the preparation and elaboration of the project Modernization and new construction of the line Praha-Veleslavín – Praha-Letiště Václava Havla (Prague-Václav Havel Airport).

Regular Passenger Transport Returns to Židlochovice after Forty Years
On Sunday 15 December, the first regular trains will ride on the renewed railway line between Hrušovany u Brna and Židlochovice. Správa železniční dopravní cesty (SŽDC) carried out its complete reconstruction and electrification. This allowed introducing direct trains from the regional capital. Passengers at Židlochovice Station will have at their disposal two new platforms; at Hrušovany u Brna, one centre and one external platform was built. All of them have a boarding edge at a standard height of 550 millimetres above the rail.

Extensive Reconstruction of Signalling Equipment at Brno near Its End
Next Sunday already, all trains which had to be diverted to other railway stations due to several constructions of Správa železniční dopravní cesty (SŽDC) in the South Moravian capital will return to Brno Main Station. The most important investment was a reconstruction of signalling equipment; besides that, two historical bridges and a part of the station trackage with more than twenty switch points were reconstructed. All of this for a price exceeding CZK 2 billion. Co-financing is assured by the European Union under the Operational programme Transport 2014–2020.
