Renovation of Railway Stations in South Moravia Will Cost CZK 115 million
This year, along with the ongoing reconstruction of the Kuřim and Břeclav station buildings, Správa železniční dopravní cesty (SŽDC) will carry out further extensive renovations in Modřice or Sokolnice-Telnice. At the same time, renovation projects for Mikulov Railway Station or station buildings in Ivanovice na Hané and Moravské Bránice will be launched. In total, SŽDC will spend almost CZK 115 million on repair and project works.

A New Double-Track Stop Emerges in Plzeň Thanks to Railway Line Rearrangement
Today, Správa železniční dopravní cesty (SŽDC) festively launched the third stage of Plzeň Junction modernisation. During the construction of the so-called Domažlice Line Rearrangement, the association of companies Swietelsky Rail CZ and Swietelsky stavební will build within a period of 23 months a new double-track railway line in the area of the current stop Plzeň-Skvrňany. In Domažlická Street, the road I/26 will be relocated outside the residential zone.

Exceptional Change of Railway Passenger Transport Timetable as of 9 April
Správa železniční dopravní cesty prepared as of Monday 9 April an exceptional change of the railway passenger transport timetable 2018 for more than a dozen of lines. This occurred based on requests of the carriers ČD, LEO Express and ARRIVA vlaky.

Part of Žďár Railway Station Made Available for the Police. SŽDC Plans to Renovate More Buildings in Vysočina
Today, Správa železniční dopravní cesty (SŽDC) handed over festively the reconstructed premises of the railway station in Žďár nad Sázavou to the Police of the Czech Republic. Offices on the first floor of the building will be used by police dog handlers. This is another example of government agencies utilising parts of railway stations. In 2018, SŽDC also expects to invest CZK 52 million in construction works and preparing station building modernisation in the Vysočina Region. The most important projects include a renovation of the railway stations in Velké Meziříčí, Křižanov, Přibyslav and Ostrov nad Oslavou.

Almost CZK 30 million for Repairs and Reconstructions of Railway Stations in Zlín Region This Year
This year, Správa železniční dopravní cesty (SŽDC) estimates total costs for constructions or project preparation of modernising station buildings in Zlín Region to an amount of CZK 29 million. Among the largest investments in preparation we can name the reconstruction of railway stations in Újezdec u Luhačovic, Huštěnovice or Kunovice-Loučka. Stations and stops will also undergo substantial changes within modernisation and electrification of the line Otrokovice – Vizovice.

SŽDC Starts Repairing Stations in Moravia-Silesia Region for More than CZK 100 Million
This year, Správa železniční dopravní cesty (SŽDC) will start repairs and larger reconstructions of more than fifteen railway stations in Moravia-Silesia Region. The infrastructure manager expects total costs of constructions or project preparation amounting to CZK 106 million. Among the largest investments we can name completed repairs of the passenger building in Bohumín, modernisation of the railway station in Frenštát pod Radhoštěm or the reconstruction in Havířov or Oprva západ currently in its project phase. New escalators together with an extended information system will complete the newly built lifts at the main station in Ostrava.

CZK 142 million for Repairs and Reconstructions of Railway Stations in Olomouc Region This Year
This year, Správa železniční dopravní cesty (SŽDC) will start repairs and large-scale renovations of more than twenty railway stations in the Olomouc Region. The Infrastructure Manager estimates the total construction and project preparation costs to be CZK 142 million. The ongoing reconstruction of Přerov Railway Station and the station building in Lipník nad Bečvou will be followed by renovations of station buildings in Hanušovice, Šternberk or some smaller railway stations in the city of Olomouc or Jeseníky area.

During its regular session on 22 March 2018, the SŽDC Administration Board appointed the hitherto Deputy Director General for Rail Operability Mr. Jiří Svoboda to the position of Director General of this state organisation.

Repair Works of Railway Stations in Prague and Central Bohemia Will Cost More than CZK 200 million this Year
Správa železniční dopravní cesty (SŽDC) plans to invest nearly CZK 207 million in preparing and implementing railway station renovations in Prague and Central Bohemia. The direct costs of repair and reconstruction works at Prague and Central Bohemia railway stations will be CZK 51 million and 118 million, respectively. Next year, works on two key Prague station buildings will start. In Central Bohemia, the railway stations in Kolín, Hořovice and Nelahozeves will be renovated this year.
